When you put the plug of the hair dryer in the plug-socket, the electric current will flow trough the hair dryer. The wrapped filaments of the heating element will be provided with that current, so that the heating element will warm up.

The current will also drive the motor, which will next drive the fan.

The fan sucks air into the hairdryer. The air pass the filaments of the heating-element, so that it takes up the warmth.Finally, the heated air leaves the hair dryer and dry the hair because it accelerate the evaporation of the water on the hair. The heat air raises as it were the temperature of the air around the hair.
