My Personal Thoughts

Page 3: How full is your bucket? The heart that gives ……….gathers. Rhonda B. Horton, Rhonda Eckenroth, Tracy Elmore, Beverly Anderson, Lugoff-Elgin Middle School.

Everyone has an invisible bucket. We are at our

best when our buckets are overflowing and at our worst when they are

empty.Everyone also has an

invisible dipper. In each interaction, we can use

our dipper either to fill or to dip from others’

buckets. Whenever we choose to fill others’ buckets, we in turn

fill our own.

Life’s not about waiting for the storms to pass. It’s about learning to dance in the rain.

Filling Students’ BucketsBrain Research1. Survival Mode2. Learning Mode

Brains are inherited. Minds are developed. *90% of our discipline problems come from 10% of our students. *80% of discipline referrals come from 11% of our staff.

Provide a warm, loving, learning environment. Give compliments. Post-it notes are a good resource.

Filling Parents’ Buckets

What is the #1 complaint of parents?

Homework!1. Classroom time plus homework should NEVER equal more than 40 hours a week.2. Children should have the right to homework they can complete without help.3. Children’s academic grade should not be in jeopardy because of homework.4. Children have the right to playtime, down time, and adequate sleep.5. Parents should be entitled to excuse children from homework they don’t understand. 6. Families should be entitled to weekends and holidays.

First, I must love their children!!

Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it. So…… Create some joy and “unwrap” your gratitude TODAY!!!! And then, start dancing!
