The Trailer

• We filmed our trailer in the October half term and finished editing in February. We used sites such as YouTube to advertise it and get more views. This was our main source of the ancillary sales

The Poster

• Our poster was another way of advertising our film. It has the trailer’s release date on it to show the audience when it is out. We kept the words to a minimum as we wanted to focus on the picture and the background. It includes the title of the film and it’s tag line’ when you just can’t let go’. The tag line is also said in the trailer as it has significance.

The magazine cover

• The magazine cover gives the audience a better idea about the film. It gives them exclusive pictures and a free poster inside. It also includes an interview with the lead actress. As it is a front cover page, this shows the audience that the film is important and has potential. We included all the add-on’s that any other film magazine, we included the barcode, the price, the website and additional extra’s such as the free poster.

The font and the Title

• We used the same font for the film poster and the release date at the end of the trailer. We use this consistency to show the audience that all aspects of our trailer relate to each other.

• This is important because if an member of our target audience sees the film poster, they might remember that it is similar to the trailer and this will show relevance to all aspects of our film.

Recurring themes

• We have used the colour blue throughout the film trailer production. This helps us link everything together and makes it look better.

• We used it for the magazine cover background, the title and shy in the film poster and it was always in the trailer, whether it was the blue sunny sky or the blue sea.

Blue

• We wanted to use blue as our main colour throughout the ancillary sales as the film Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind.

• They’re use of colours such as blue and red make it stand out. The poster is so simple and has an easy tagline. This is what we wanted to achieve doing our poster.

• In the film poster we used blue for the title and the sky. We used some special effects for the sky. It was originally plain blue with a little bit of cloud. The sea was blue however we toned it down so it looked more gloomy.

• The poster shows two sides of the story as the main characters look happy and in love but the background tells a different story as it is dark and shows a mystery about it.

• Again the use of blue is used in the magazine cover. We used it for the font and the sky in the background. The actors are in black and white to give more emphasis on the title and the background.

The trailer

• Throughout the trailer, there are themes that link with each other.

• Such as the blue skies, the beach and the locations.

The Tagline

• The tagline is used in the film poster and also in the trailer. Most films have a tagline that is symbolic to it.

• A tagline in a film can give away a little part to the film itself. Also in more serious films, the tagline is quite dramatic whereas in funny comedy films they play on words and use a pun to make it a lighter humour.

The actors

• With our actors we tried to use as few people as we could as it kept is simple, there were 4 main characters, this was it is easier for the audience to keep up with the plot.

• The main boy and girl have the most scenes however the grieving woman and the crazed woman only make short appearances.
