How did you use new media technologies in

construction and research, planning and evaluation?

PLANNINGDuring planning we did a lot of paper work using Microsoft windows programs as evidenced on my blog we had to confirm a few strategies before we proceeded onto the construction of our music video.

RESEARCH

The internet was our number 1 stop in research so we used computers as one the

technological device. We used this to browse sites like you tube and MySpace in

search of an artist. We also used the internet to research on equipments that we

could use in production also used Microsoft's packages to work on timesheets,

storyboards and shooting schedules. We used mobile phones to call a few contacts

we knew were making music and in fact that’s how we secured our artist Jamie

Lynch.

During construction we used final cut pro which is an editing software by apple for our post production. It posed a challenge at first but after watching a few tutorials of the basic editing skills on YouTube we got the hung of it worked with it really well.

CONSTRUCTION

I used a desktop computer at college to work on the evaluation.

EVALUATIONFor my Evaluation I used two media technologies below:

Microsoft’s windows program ( word document ) to create a presentation on slideshow for my evaluation.

We used these technologies to design our CD covers and the advert. We used Photoshop to retouch the photos and match their colour temperatures.We used in design to design the templates for both the CD cover and advert.

CONSTRUCTIONThese are the three main technological devices that we used in the construction of our music video. Plus the SD cards to store footage.

CANON 550DThis camera was great

for shooting in low

light and gave us very

good control of depth

of field.

MAC BOOK PROWe used this on

location since we was

using SD cards we had

to transfer footage

from the memory cards

onto the laptop.

STEADYCAMWe used this to get

very nice moving shots

as it helped us to

stabilize our shots

avoiding shaky footage

that comes across as

unprofessional.
