This three-day course covers the skills and knowledge required to work in confined spaces and assist in confined space rescue. Participants are generally workers who are required to wear breathing apparatus as part of their job. This may be due to them working in a confined space with hazardous gases / vapours, in a toxic atmosphere or for other applications requiring the wearing of breathing apparatus.

This course is developed for individuals who may not have to enter and work in confined spaces but their occupations require an understanding of the controls, conditions and guidelines for confined spaces under the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act 2011.

Upon successful completion participants will receive a Certificate of Completion in Confined Space Awareness.

ENTER & WORK IN CONFINED SPACES REFRESHER

1 DAY

Generally, refresher training should be undertaken between 1 to 3 years, however if workers are contracted, they should always check if the organisation they are contracting to has specific requirements. Participants must have completed nationally recognised confined space training within the last 3 years. Proof of this previous training must be provided prior to attending the course. The majority of the allowed time is spent on practical exercises.

Upon successful completion, a Statement of Attainment will be issued based on the confined space training previously undertaken.

RESPIRATORY FIT TEST

This fit testing service is for anyone using a respirator, whether in the mining, construction, fire or health industries. Respirator facial fit testing is a mandatory requirement of the AS/NZS 1715:2009 Selection, use and maintenance of respiratory protective equipment standard. Testing takes approximately 15 minutes and includes information and training on the correct fitting of a respirator, how to maintain the respirator and information for when repeat testing is required. Upon completion a Respiratory Fit Test Report will be issued. Please contact SGS directly to book in this test.

½ DAYThis course has been developed to highlight the high risks when working with pressurised fluids and the dangers of fluid injection. It covers fittings, threads, gauges, grease guns, oils, safety requirements when operating hydraulic equipment and the urgent treatment requirements for hydraulic oil injection.

This course is designed to inform electrical tradespersons of specific electrical standards and responsibilities that relate to authorisations as a low voltage electrical tradesperson. 5 DAYSThis Lead Auditor training course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct third party audits of an OH&S Management System against OHSAS 18001:2007. Upon successful completion of this course and additional post course assessment, participants would have met the training requirements to apply for registration as an IRCA OH&S Management Systems Lead Auditor.

1 DAYThe objective of this course is to provide participants with an overview of the purpose and requirements of ISO 14001:2015. Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to explain the purpose and intent of the revised series of management systems standards, understand the application of the principles of environmental management, describe the revisions to ISO 14001:2015 and explain the relationships between the clauses of ISO 14001:2015.


ISO 14001:2015 INTERNAL AUDITOR

2 DAYS

The objective of this two-day course is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills required to perform an internal audit of an Environmental Management System based on ISO 14001:2015. The course will focus on how to report on the effective implementation and maintenance of the management system in accordance with ISO 19011:2011 and how to contribute to the continual improvement of the EMS. The course refers to ISO 14001:2015 as the management system standard that provides the context for internal audit, however, this course does not address ISO 14001:2015 in detail.


ISO 14001:2015 LEAD AUDITOR

5 DAYSDesigned for anyone who wants to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct audits on an Environmental Management System (EMS). Upon successful completion of this course participants will have met the training requirements to apply for registration as an IRCA Environmental Management Systems Lead Auditor.


ANNEX SL MODULE 1 AUDITOR TRANSITION

1 DAYThis course is designed to equip participants with an understanding of the changes to management system standards arising as a result of the adoption of Annex SL. The IRCA Auditor Transition Course is split into two modules: Annex SL – Module 1 which is generic and applies to all standards and the Standard Specific – Module 2 (i.e. 9001:2015, 14001:2015). Module 1 only needs to be completed once and can be aligned with any other Standard Specific Module 2.

2 DAYSThe objective of this course is to refresh and/or review the structure and basic requirements of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and OHSAS 18001:2007. It will provide participants the knowledge to plan and conduct an internal audit to improve the effectiveness of the organisations Integrated Management System (IMS) and teach participants how they can add value to the organisation through continuous improvement of the management system.


ISO 14001:2015 AUDITOR TRANSITION

1 DAYThe purpose of this course is to equip participants with an understanding of the difference between ISO 14001:2004 and ISO 14001:2015. It will provide participants a comprehensive overview of the timelines associated with transitioning to the new standard and is ideal for anyone involved in the development, implementation and management of an organisation’s environmental management system.


ISO 14001:2015 MODULE 2 – AUDITOR TRANSITION COURSE

HACCP FOUNDATION

1 DAY

This one day training course introduces the food safety program as the primary means of managing food safety in the workplace. Its focus is to ensure that all manufacturing operators and support staff are properly trained and educated in HACCP principles and food hygiene procedures based on the requirements of Codex Alimentarius. This training covers a detailed understanding of the steps and techniques used to develop and review a HACCP based food safety program. Note that under certain schemes, it is a requirement for an organisation to have at least one staff member trained on HACCP before they can gain certification to the standard.

2 DAYS Gain a practical understanding of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), the requirements of

Codex Alimentarius, and learn how to develop and implement a HACCP system to meet customer and regulatory requirements. HACCP is the basis for all food safety management systems and the universally accepted tool to identify and eliminate food safety hazards. Note that under certain schemes, it is a requirement for an organisation to have at least one staff member trained on HACCP before they can gain certification to the standard.


HACCP INTERNAL AUDITOR 2 DAYS

This training course introduces the requirements of Codex Alimentarius and HACCP Management Systems, the infrastructure needed for implementation and the HACCP auditing and certification process. The training comprises lecture and workshop exercises and would meet the requirements of workers responsible for identifying and rectifying issues within the system.

This course is designed as a refresher for anyone involved in the food industry and understanding the internal auditing of the organisation’s HACCP systems. It is based on the requirements of Codex Alimentarius and caters for all levels in the organisation, from Senior Management & Business Owners or Supervisors to shop-floor food handlers. It is particularly beneficial for those who have a role in the maintenance of a HACCP Plan, but don’t need technical detail to carry out their responsibilities, nor involvement in the development of food safety programs. Participants will need to provide evidence that they have completed the HACCP Internal Auditor.
