CONFINED SPACE

ENTER & WORK IN CONFINED SPACES – 2 DAYS

2 DAYS

This two-day course covers the skills and knowledge required to work in confined spaces. Participants develop skills to identify confined spaces, conduct risk assessments, act as a standby person, issue work permits and test atmospheres.

ENTER & WORK IN CONFINED SPACES – 3 DAYS

3 DAYS

This three-day course covers the skills and knowledge required to work in confined spaces and assist in confined space rescue. Participants are generally workers who are required to wear breathing apparatus as part of their job. This may be due to them working in a confined space with hazardous gases / vapours, in a toxic atmosphere or for other applications requiring the wearing of breathing apparatus.

This course is developed for individuals who may not have to enter and work in confined spaces but their occupations require an understanding of the controls, conditions and guidelines for confined spaces under the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act 2011.

Upon successful completion participants will receive a Certificate of Completion in Confined Space Awareness.

ENTER & WORK IN CONFINED SPACES REFRESHER

1 DAY

Generally, refresher training should be undertaken between 1 to 3 years, however if workers are contracted, they should always check if the organisation they are contracting to has specific requirements. Participants must have completed nationally recognised confined space training within the last 3 years. Proof of this previous training must be provided prior to attending the course. The majority of the allowed time is spent on practical exercises.

Upon successful completion, a Statement of Attainment will be issued based on the confined space training previously undertaken.

RIIWHS204D WORK SAFELY AT HEIGHTS – REFRESHER

½ DAYThis training course is designed for workers who are required to “work at height” and have undertaken a full training course within the last 3 years. Workers who “work at height” should be provided with adequate training to ensure they are using height safety equipment properly. Participants will review Height Safety Regulations, Australian Standards and relevant Codes of Practice. Participants will also undergo practical instruction in the correct use of height safety equipment.

1 DAY This nationally accredited one-day training course is designed for workers who are required to “work

STANDARD 11 SURFACE MINING INDUCTION REFRESHER

1 DAY

The Standard 11 Surface Mining Induction Refresher must be completed every 5 years to meet the QLD legislative requirements. Participants will need to provide evidence that they have completed the Standard 11 Surface Mining Induction WITHIN the previous 5 years.

Participants will be issued with a Certificate of Completion. Within the following 6 months, participants will be required to complete a workplace verification book.

1 DAYThe NSW “White Card” course is designed to raise awareness of best and safe practices so as to eliminate risks that cause injuries and fatalities in the workplace. If you work, or want to work, in the Construction Industry, you need to complete a WHS “White Card” course. The “White Card” is issued by SafeWork NSW within 60 days from the date of training.

RESPIRATORY FIT TEST

This fit testing service is for anyone using a respirator, whether in the mining, construction, fire or health industries. Respirator facial fit testing is a mandatory requirement of the AS/NZS 1715:2009 Selection, use and maintenance of respiratory protective equipment standard. Testing takes approximately 15 minutes and includes information and training on the correct fitting of a respirator, how to maintain the respirator and information for when repeat testing is required. Upon completion a Respiratory Fit Test Report will be issued. Please contact SGS directly to book in this test.

PORTABLE HYDRAULIC EQUIPMENT AWARENESS

½ DAYThis course has been developed to highlight the high risks when working with pressurised fluids and the dangers of fluid injection. It covers fittings, threads, gauges, grease guns, oils, safety requirements when operating hydraulic equipment and the urgent treatment requirements for hydraulic oil injection.

Upon successful completion participants will receive a Certificate of Completion.

LIFTING & SLINGING AWARENESS

½ DAY The purpose of this course is to provide participants with knowledge regarding various types of lifting equipment, the dangers involved with lifting and slinging, safety awareness of suspended loads and the legal requirements and associated responsibilities.

Upon successful completion participants will receive a Certificate of Completion.

MDG251 DAY

This one-day course covers the MDG25 Guideline for Safe Cutting and Welding at Mines which has been developed to assist Operators, Managers, Supervisors, Engineers and Contractors who conduct or supervise hot work on mine sites.

MANUAL HANDLING

½ DAYManual Handling is any activity requiring effort to lift, move, push, pull, carry, hold or restrain any object, including a person or animal. Poor manual handling practice is one of the most common causes of injury in the workplace and the injuries can be disabling and costly. This course will provide participants with the skill and knowledge to safely identify, plan and perform manual handling tasks to maintain an injury-free workplace.

EXTRA LOW VOLTAGE ELECTRICAL

2 HOURS

This course is designed to inform persons of specific electrical standards and responsibilities that relate to authorisations to maintain, modify or install Extra Low Voltage mobile and transportable electrical equipment. This course is mainly based around auto electrical requirements including electrical test equipment and Legislation / Australian Standards.

Upon successful completion participants will receive a Certificate of Completion and a Completion Card.

LOW VOLTAGE ELECTRICAL

½ DAY

This course is designed to inform electrical tradespersons of specific electrical standards and responsibilities that relate to authorisations as a low voltage electrical tradesperson. It is based on Legislation / Australian Standards, IP Rating requirements, electric shock protocol, power restoration requirements, electrical testing on energised low voltage equipment, inspection requirements, generators, welding machines, auto electrical, portable electrical equipment, electrical test equipment and arc flash.

PERFORM RESCUE FROM A LIVE LOW VOLTAGE PANEL & CPR½ DAY

The aim of this course is to teach participants how to rescue a person from low voltage equipment using a Low Voltage Rescue Kit as well as performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

Upon successful completion participants will receive a Statement of Attainment for:

CPPFES2005A DEMONSTRATE FIRST ATTACK FIRE FIGHTING

½ DAYIn this nationally recognised competency course, participants gain knowledge and expertise in identifying and correct use of fire extinguishers, fire blankets, hose reels and the associated procedures. The course content can be customised to meet specific requirements and covers fire chemistry, fire fighting mediums, raising alarms, safety procedures when fire fighting and portable and fixed firefighting equipment.

EMERGENCY WARDEN½ DAY

This Emergency Warden training course is a combination of both practical training and theoretical training in how to safely prepare personnel for evacuation, how to safely evacuate the workplace, how to control the emergency, how to brief other wardens and the emergency services and how to coordinate the entire emergency response. This requirement is consistent with Australian Standard 3745-2010.
