Why Micro-housing?
Two of five poor Filipino families are living in houses withroofs that are not made of strong materials
One in four poor families has no sanitary toilets
Two in every five poor Filipinos do not have electricity in
their homes
Three in ten poor families do not have access to safe
water

EBIs Micro-Housing (House Repair) Loan Product
Objective is to provide Class A microfinance clients with creditfor house repairs and other home improvements
A decent home will enhance the clients well-being andultimately, their ability to sustain their livelihood and capacity
to pay off their loans
Pilot tested in June 30, 2006 in the cities of Tagum and Davao.
It accounts for 14 % of the total microfinance portfolio of EBI

House Repair Loan Policies
a. Must be with the KMTK Program for at least 1 year.
b. Must be classified as a Class A client.
c. Must own the house that her family occupies.
d. Her family life is peaceful, household and business
environment are neat and properly organized.
e. Must have an actual renovation plan for her household
f. Must have an existing business that operates andearns on a regular and sustainable manner ( based on
Cash Flow)
g. Priority will be given to repair or installation of toilets
