•  Context:  •  New  no.ons  about  employability  and  what  is  needed  •  Surveys  among  employers  reveal  a  trend  •  A  lot  of  educa.on  and  dialogue  required

•  Recent AAC&U survey (2013): •  93% of employers say that demonstrated capacity to

think critically, communicate clearly, and solve complex problems is more important that discipline knowledge

•  Global issues, knowledge about foreign societies and culture

•  Edge Foundation, UK (2012): •  Transversal skills, work-based learning is an effective

approach to enhance employability of graduates and foster greater understanding between HEI and employers

•  Flash Eurobarometer (2010): •  Skills for future graduates: sector (45%), numeracy, literacy,

computer (43%), communication (39%), team working (37%), analytical & problem solving (32%), foreign language (31%), adaptability (25%), planning (22%)
