Hey Senior-level 4-H’ers! The State 4-H Photography Contest is just around the corner!
Best of Show Awards will be presented to one photo in each division. Best of Show winners will be framed and displayed
at the Texas 4-H State Headquarters office for a year, then returned to the winners after next year’s contest. Also, each
Best of Show winner will receive a $250.00 cash prize!
For 2015 the theme is “Inspiration?” This theme will focus on pictures of subjects that move and inspire YOU. Photos can
include photos of leaders, mentors, family, friends, things in your community, school, church, or across the country and
world.
Entries must be emailed to Kristen Greer at: [email protected] no later than March 30 for preliminary judg-
ing. You will be notified if your photos advance to the state contest and official state entries will be completed by the Exten-

The Johnson County 4-H Shotgun Team participated at the Houston Livestock Show Young Guns Clay Shoot. Congratulations to Cade Hartnett on winning 9th place in the Junior Male division!
Final results from Ft. Worth Stock Show are as follows: In the Goat Show: John Michael Perez-6th, Josh Haw-kins-8th, Brigg Hawkins-8th, Hunter Cofer-12th, Daeley Havlak-16th and Brandon White-17th. In the Lamb Show: Brigg Hawkins-3rd & 8th, Hanna Lisenbe-4th and Lily Eakes-16th. In the Steer Show: Brecken Shipman-3rd (American) and Mikayla Grady-3rd (European Cross), In the Market Barrow Show: Mikayla Grady ex-hibited the Grand Champion Market Barrow! Results from San Angelo Stock Show include: In the Market Barrow Show: Kellan Lyness-5th (Cross) and Breana Boman-10th (Duroc). In the Steer Show: Jake Strevey-10th (European), Avery Summey-12th (American) and Jake Bons-14th (American). Results from San Antonio Stock Show Include: In the Dairy Cattle Show: Jacob Bingham placed 1st with 2 of his Holsteins and 5th with the other. In addition to his placings, Jacob also won Champion Junior Holstein Showmanship! In the Market Barrow Show: Kellan Lyness-3rd (Hamp), Mikala Grady-3rd (Hamp). In the Steer Show: Mikala Grady-3rd (AOB). In the lamb show, Brigg Hawkins placed 3rd. And, Madison Metzler placed 4th in the Other Registered Breeds.
Meats Judging Team Results: The Johnson County 4-H Meats Judging teams compet-ed at the Ft. Worth Stock Show on February 1. Placing 4th in the competition was the team of Travis Tilton, Tucker Tilton, Lauren Jones and Anna Carlock. This team also competed at the San Antonio Stock Show and again placed 4th overall. The team comprised of Karlee Kruse, Lindsey Jones, Todd Hardin and Kortney Kruse placed 16th at the Ft. Worth Stock Show and 7th overall in San Antonio. Congratulations to Travis Tilton for plac-ing 8th overall as an individual in Ft. Worth and Anna Carlock for placing 8th overall as an individual in San Antonio! Dairy Judging Team Results: The Johnson County 4-H Dairy Judging team comprised of Travis Tilston, Tucker Tilton, LeAnne Pollock and Dani Thompson recently competed at the San Antonio Stock Show placing 12th overall. Jacob Bingham and Brigg Hawkins judged as alternates.

It’s time to order tags for the 2015 State Fair Lamb & Goat Validation and 2015-2016
Major Show Steer Validation.
All tags will cost $12 each. Orders should be paid for at the Extension Office by cash or checks can be made out to the 4-H Ag Fund. All payments are due upon placing the order.
Orders for all tags are due by April 9th to the Extension Office. Tags ordered after April 9th will cost $20 each.
