Emotion of Music

Music has the power to move us

It effects our feelings and stirs us

Childhood music experiment (my friend Ric)

I heard a song that “stirred” me and gave me a picture

But what do the lyrics mean?

I looked it up...

An Anthem of Childhood

This song is an anthem to childhood

This song is a victory over old age and death

This song declares victory over pain and bullies

This song brings us to memories of simple times

Jesus tells us to be childlike

We are God’s children...

Page 28: Hoppipolla

Matthew 18:1-4

At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”

He called a little child and had him stand among them.

And he said:

“I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”

Page 29: Hoppipolla

Luke 18:16-17

But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God

belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of

God like a little child will never enter it.”

The Slip n’ Slide

Playing in the Rain

You don’t care if you get wet

You don’t care if you look stupid

You don’t care if your mascara runs

You don’t care if your hair gets messed up

You don’t care if you get a nosebleed

You just enjoy the rain

Page 32: Hoppipolla

Trouble with Growing Up

We get achy joints and bones

We get afraid of what people think

We get afraid of getting hurt

We get busy working

We end up carrying a lot of “baggage”

All of this prevents us from having fun!

Page 33: Hoppipolla

Don’t Be Childish

There’s a difference between child-like and childish

Everyone likes the innocence of children

Nobody likes when children don’t listen

We must be humble like children

We must be obedient and listen too

Page 34: Hoppipolla

1 Corinthians 13:11

When I was a child, I talked like a child,

I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child.

When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.

God’s Grace Is Like Rain

Page 36: Hoppipolla

Psalms 51:7-8

Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.

Let me hear joy and gladness; Let the bones you have crushed rejoice.

Page 37: Hoppipolla

Isaiah 55:10-12As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater...

So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.

Page 38: Hoppipolla

Job 37:5-7

God's voice thunders in marvelous ways; he does great things beyond our understanding.

He says to the snow, “Fall on the earth,”and to the rain shower, “Be a mighty downpour.”

So that all men he has made may know his work,he stops every man from his labor.

Worship In Mercy

Romans 12:2Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God — this

is your spiritual act of worship.

Within Your Backyard

What my friend Ric said once...

When we were kid’s we didn’t need toleave our backyard to have fun all day.

This world is God’s backyard

We are God’s children

It’s raining grace...
