Holiday Gift Giving The holidays are coming up, which means your spending may go up as well. What can you do to keep your spending low? Think outside the box! Not everyone on your list needs a store bought gift. Parents and grandparents will cherish a handmade gift just as much, if not more, than a store bought gift. The best part is you save money and your gift is something you made directly from your heart, which money cannot buy! Here are some handmade gift ideas: • Make salt dough ornaments • Bake cookies (see the next page) • Build a bird feeder • Decorate a picture frame • Paint or draw a picture Important Gift Making Reminders! • Before buying materials to make your gift, look around your house and see if you can find something there first. Just be sure to get permission to use whatever you find. • Use your imagination! You want your gift to reflect you and make the person receiving it feel special. • Plan ahead. Some gifts may take longer to make than others.
