Aloha e Ohana, I want to take this opportunity to say “Mahalo Nui” to our Ohana and business associates who continue to support Native Hawaiian Veterans, LLC. Creating an organization that honors diversity and provides core values as a solution to our customers has further enriched my life. Reflecting over the last 3 years fills me with gratitude for the many blessings in my life, for the opportunities that NHV has had to share our Ohana with everyone and how we conduct ourselves. NHV’s continuous success is based on our people who are our Kuhinas (Ambassadors). You live the core values of Alaka‘i, Lokahi, Ohana, Ho‘okipa, and Kina‘ole that makes it possible for the continuous growth of our company and our Ohana. I want to personally thank each and every one of you for your support for NHV’s mission, for your commitment and dedication over the past year to NHV and NHV’s clients. I wish you continuous growth as an individual and collective growth as an Ohana. In operational terms,
Kina‘ole means:
Doing the right thing, inthe right way, at the righttime, in the right place, to theright person, for the rightreason, with the right feeling– the first time.
The concept is based onconstantly rising standardsbecause as you do your best, you are making continuousimprovements.
We have adopted Kina‘ole, not as our core value, butrather a way of life because itwill always challenge ourdesire to be the very best, not
only for ourselves but for ourcommunity, state andcountry.

We recently created our 1st NewEmployee Orientation. As thecompany is really growing, we
decided to create a more formal program. We introduce new employees to variousaspects of the company including core values,a bit of history, Vision, Core Competencies, some who’s who, Policy and Procedures, andthe where and how you can sign up forbenefits--that sort of thing.
Currently, we are doing live delivery in theconference room at NHV in Honolulu (a copyof the PowerPoint is available on the NHVwebsite). In the near future, we will addinteractivity to the web version, along withaudio and maybe even video. Part of what isshown is how to find various information youmight be looking for such as the EmployeeHandbook or where to make your tax with-holding elections. We also created a cheatsheet as a shortcut to finding answers.
In a nutshell, first look at the NHV website(www.nativehawaiianveterans.com); then theTriNet website (www.hrpassport.com) and

Open Enrollment for Benefits on HR Passport justclosed May 30th, 2008. Benefits elected during OpenEnrollment will take effect July 1, 2008, and will
remain effective through June 30, 2009. Each year, TriNethas partnered with health care providers around the countryto bring a wide variety of plans with the highest quality ofcoverage. This year TriNet has brought on newenhancements:
New Point-of-Service (POS) plan in certain regions
Enhanced vision benefits
Online FSA filing
With all these enhancements and changes, medical premiumshave increased 30%. Because of NHV’s dedication andgenerosity to their Ohana, NHV will be absorbing this 30%
increase so that it doesn’t impact the employees.
2008 is a year of growth! NHV has been growing andgrowing since 2005. At the end of 2006, NHV had 12employees; by 2007, NHV was 27 strong. Since January ofthis year, NHV has hired 27 new employees. Take a look atour list of New Hires this year. Talk about growth, we seemto be doubling every year!
In February 2008, NHV announced that 401(k) was availablewith Fidelity. This is a great opportunity to help you to reachyour financial goals for Retirement! A few have already takenadvantage of this great benefit. For more information, youcan view the enrollment video at http://www.brainshark.com/fidelityemg/Enrolling_in_Your_401kor go to www.401k.com to start the enrollment process.

For those employees who use webmail, we will sendthe new URL and the “How to access…” white papers.
We look forward to these new changes and hope thatthis will add convenience and create a lot moree-wareness within our NHV Ohana.
EMAIL Update
by Rudy Navor
Also in June 2008, we will be switching email hosting fromOceanic-Time Warner to a Web Hosting service. Thismove primarily focuses on the need for more storage space
for employees who engage in webmail communication as opposed toMicrosoft’s desktop email application—Outlook.
Email addresses will remain the same. For those employees usingMicrosoft Outlook (desktop version), we will send out the “How tosetup…” white papers to assist in reconfiguring the email settings.
