About HKSDA Hong Kong Smart Design Awards (HKSDA), organized by the Hong Kong Exporters’ Association, aims to motivate and inspire local giftware manufacturers and exporters to transform and modify their business strategy to achieve the final goal of “Design x Strategy X Technology = Smart Business”. It also aims at inspiring and nurturing creative individuals, new talents and up-and-coming designers to take up the necessary skillsets and business concepts in order to enhance their competitiveness in the market. Formerly know as Hong Kong Smart Gifts Design Awards (HKSGDA), the Awards run its the first edition in 2012 with the support from CreateSmart Initiative (CSI), a government funding under “CreateHK”. It has been gradually grown and becoming recognized by international gift companies of the good product design and marketing of the gift industry in Hong Kong. In order to develop the Awards and expand the beneficiaries from giftware industry to other product industries in the long run, the Awards has renamed to the “Hong Kong Smart Design Awards” (HKSDA) in the 2017 edition. Besides the Gift category, Home and Houseware category is added in 2017. More than a product competition to recognize creativity and smart design, The Awards also serves as a platform for designers and corporate to develop their businesses and networks.
