NOTES FOR PERSONS ENTERING FOR THE EXAMINATIONS
Please read and ensure that you have understood these instructions and Letter for Disruption to the Taking of Examinations due to
Adverse Weather issued by the Examination Board attached before completing the entry form. The Hong Kong Examinations and
Assessment Authority (HKEAA) cannot be held responsible for incorrect entries.
1. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: No specific requirements.
2. SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES
School Candidates
Candidates are strongly advised to submit their registration online (online.hkeaa.edu.hk) during the registration period. They should
first obtain the school code through their school heads. They should upload the image of their valid Hong Kong Identity Cards or other
identification documents and settle the payment online. Examination fees must be settled on or before 6 December 2019 (5:30 p.m.)
for candidates using online registration only. Alternatively, candidates may submit their registration by completed entry forms
through their school heads. The in-person registration deadline for school candidates is 5 December 2019.
Private Candidates
(a) Online Registration
Candidates are strongly advised to submit their registration online (online.hkeaa.edu.hk) during the registration period. They should
upload the image of their valid Hong Kong Identity Cards or other identification documents for checking at the time of registration.
Examination fees must be settled online on or before 6 December 2019 (5:30 p.m.).
(b) Registration In-person (or through a representative)
Candidates may submit their completed entry forms in-person or by a representative. They should show and bring along a photocopy
of their valid Hong Kong Identity Cards or other identification documents for checking at the time of registration. If the completed
entry form is submitted by a representative, the representative should also bring along a photocopy of the candidate’s valid Hong
Kong Identity Card or other identification document for checking (which will be destroyed after the examinations are concluded).
Please refer to the table below for the registration schedule.
(c) Registration by Post
Please mark “Edexcel IAL” on the envelope when sending the completed entry form to the HKEAA by post. You should also
enclose a photocopy of your valid Hong Kong Identity Card or other identification document (which will be destroyed after the
examinations are concluded) and a stamped and self-addressed return envelope so that the demand note for examination payment can
be sent to you for settlement. Cheques or cash must NOT be enclosed with the entry form. The entry form should reach the HKEAA
during the following postal registration period. If the demand note is not received before 29 November 2019, you must contact the
HKEAA at 3628 8761 / 3628 8787 and register in-person before the registration closing date. Please ensure that sufficient postage
is paid to avoid unsuccessful delivery. The sender will bear any consequences arising from not paying sufficient postage. The
HKEAA cannot accept responsibility for entry forms or demand notes lost in the post. To safeguard against any possible loss or delay
in mail, candidates are advised to send their entries by post in good time.
Candidates are advised to submit their entries as early as possible in order to avoid the rush in the last few days. Candidates with special
needs and disabilities requiring special arrangements should contact the HKEAA and submit the completed application form on or before 20
January 2020.

May/ June 2020 is the last assessment of GCE AS-Level Economics B (8EB0), Chinese (8CN0) and Statistics (8ST0).

@ The pre-release materials for GCE A-Level Economics B Unit 3 (9EB0/03), Business Unit 3 (9BS0/03) and IAL Biology Unit 5 (WBI05/WBI15) and English Language Unit 4 (WEN04), if applicable, will be given to candidates one month before the examination through participating schools/ organizations (school candidates) or by post (private candidate).
# IGCSE Chinese, French, German, Spanish and GCSE Chinese scheduled on the same session will be examined consecutively. Please note the examination start time on the Admission Form.
* IGCSE Chinese, French, German and Spanish (Paper 3) Speaking Tests will be held in late March to mid-April 2020. Speaking tests may be scheduled on weekdays, weekends or public holidays. The notification of the examination date, time and venue will be sent to school candidates through participating schools / organizations or to private candidates by post in mid-March 2020 (IGCSE).
※ Each of Unit 3 and Unit 6 of IAL Biology, Chemistry and Physics contains a practical written examination which is offered as an international alternative to internal school-based assessment.
GCE AS-Level Chinese Unit 3 (8CN0/03) and A-Level Chinese Unit 3 (9CN0/03) Speaking Test will be held in mid to late April 2020 on weekdays, weekends or public holidays subject to the candidature, availability of examination venues and teacher examiners. 1. New GCE qualification with linear specifications for A-Level Arabic and Greek will be available in May / June 2020 and there is no longer an AS qualifications for Arabic

The IAL qualifications for a range of subjects are being updated. May / June 2020 is the last assessment of legacy A2-level examinations, Core Mathematics WMA01 and Decision
Mathematics WDM01. Candidates can only choose to cash in A-Level qualifications(s) if Biology / Chemistry / Physics units 1-3 (2013 Specification) and Economics / Business
Studies units 1-2 (2013 Specification) were taken in previous examination series. Legacy (2013) units will not be able to combine with redeveloped (2018) units, except
Mathematics subjects.

Starting from 2020, there are new syllabuses for subjects: Arabic, Chinese, English Language, History, Sociology, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Tamil and Tamil Language.
