Honda has recently launched the 2023 Activa 125, which is now available in four variants: drum, drum alloy, disc, and H-Smart. The base drum variant starts at a price of Rs 78,920, while the top H-Smart variant can be purchased for Rs 88,093 (all prices ex-showroom Delhi).
The updated model complies with the OBD2 emission norms, which will come into effect from April 1. Additionally, the scooter is available in five different colours to choose from.
One of the most notable changes in the updated Activa 125 is the all-digital instrument cluster that has replaced the analogue unit (with digital inset) of the previous model. This updated cluster displays various information, including a speedometer, trip meter, fuel gauge, clock, Eco Indicator, and a service reminder.
Another addition in all variants of the new Activa 125 is a small apron-mounted storage that can be used to store small items. The shape of the under-seat storage has also been redesigned. These changes add more convenience and utility to the scooter, making it a more practical choice for daily commuting.
The latest addition to the Activa 125 lineup is the H-Smart variant, which boasts several new features. Similar to the Activa 6G, this variant comes with a key fob instead of a physical key, allowing for a remote locator, proximity unlock, and one-touch ignition. This feature adds more convenience and security for the rider.
The 2023 Activa 125 retains its 124cc air-cooled engine, with a slight increase in power from 8.29PS to 8.3PS, while the torque remains the same at 10.4Nm. It also adheres to the OBD-2 technology, enabling it to comply with the updated emission norms in real time.
The new low-friction tubeless tyres might improve fuel efficiency figures, and the three-step adjustable rear suspension may enhance the overall ride comfort.
As a family-scooter offering, the Activa 125 competes with several other scooters such as the TVS Jupiter 125, Suzuki Access 125, Hero Destini 125, Maestro Edge 125, and Yamaha Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid.
