Examination of the suspect:-case investigator-clothing/injuries-document-transport concernsSuspect’s demeanor:-diminished capacity defense-rational?-straightforward/evasive-responses intelligent/confused-control over their actions-emotional condition-intoxication

-give reasons for actions-speak EnglishAsk witnesses:-suspect’s appearance at time of crime-how did suspect act-determine demeanor/mental state-rational/irrational-act cold blooded/unemotional -suspect cream/yell/say anything-how act committed-appear under the influence-say/do anything after the crime-attempt to flee/cover up

DYING DECLARATIONS:legal admissible if:-victim must believe they are going to die-victim must have no hope of recovery-must refer to-f. manner/circumstances which caused victim’s conditiong. Identity of person of responsible-delcarant must die-declarant was otherwise competent/rational

Questions to be asked:-name-where live-believe you are about to die-any hope of recovery-willing to make a true statement of how/why/by whom you were
