What animals were symbolically important to the Caveman culture? Draw a picture of a home from the people you are studying. What would it look like inside? What would it look like outside? Make a glossary of common English words that originally came from the Norse or Viking culture. Is their meaning the same or different now? Make a mind map of connections between the culture you are studying and now. Where to do see evidence? On T.V, books, movies? Create a diorama that shows what it looked like where your culture lived. Design and create a piece of jewellery that was worn by the Native American Indians Design a weapon that someone from the Viking culture would have used (Sword, shield etc.). Dress up as a person from the culture you are studying. Take a photo of yourself and include arrows/bubbles that explain you choices. Write 10 ways to avoid getting the plague. Plan a 7day trip to the area your studying to see the sights and see artifacts in a museum. Include: flights, accommodation and places to visit. Design and create a set of 10 Quiz cards about cowboys and Native American Indians. Imagine you are a 10-year-old child from your "Horrible History". Write a descriptive diary entry of a 'day in your life'. You will need to research this. Create a word search or crossword about the culture from your “horrible histories”. Research the history of an antibiotic, e.g., penicillin. How did life change before and after its invention? Research a piece of technology developed by the Aztecs. Explain what, when, and where it was developed and how it was used. Using a T-chart, compare an Aztec pyramid with an Egyptian pyramid. Write a narrative about a place and time from the “horrible histories culture you are studying. Remember to include a setting, characters, a problem and a solution. Set yourself a fitness goal or decide on a sporting skill you want to learn. Plan how you will achieve this. Keep a record of what you do each day to as you work on your goal...this could be written, photo or video evidence. After 2 weeks test yourself to see if you met your goal and write about it. Pretend you’re Goldilocks and write an apology letter to the 3 bears for damaging their property and stealing their food. Think of 10 questions you would ask a Caveman.
