HomeNetMedia does not require any specialized equipment. All standard DLNA-compliant home media servers and renderers can be used in combination with two key software components of the application: Content Broker and Home Gateway.

Content Broker acts as a digital media controller, i.e., it collects information about content offered by media servers, rendering capabilities of media renderers, and sets up a con-nection between a server and a renderer. The Broker's func-tionality also includes support for a user in selecting content based on the user profile, context information and user's input, and in selecting a device for content presentation.

Home Gateway implements functionality of a digital media server but instead of making local content available, it provides metadata and content available from remote content providers through the Content Aware Network.

Work supported in part by the Ministry of Science and In order to perform personalization and service Higher Education, Poland under Grant N519 581038 and adaptation to context, the application takes advantage the European Regional Development Fund Grant POIG.-of context service and user profile service.
