It is important for all of us to learn homemaking skills;
whether she is married or single, every woman is a homemaker.
Barbara Winder, Relief Society General President, 1986
There is an art to being a homemaker for ourselves and for our families, it is
important that we have a sanctuary--a place of refuge away from the world
where we feel comfortable and where, if others come, they too can feel
comfortable. 1986, Barbara Winder, General Relief Society President, 3/86 Ensign

Organize Yourselves
“To all of us the word homemaking has great significance. To us as women a special mission has been given to be the homebuilders of the Church,
the community, and the world.In a revelation to the Prophet Joseph Smith, the Lord
tells us, “Organize yourselves; prepare every needful thing; and establish a house, even a house of prayer,
a house of fasting, a house of faith, a house of learning, a house of glory, a house of order, a house
of God (D&C 88:119).” Organize Yourselves, Ensign, Nov. 1980
