As soon as I returned from school I started working on my real estate license. Tell us about your family? I’ve been married for two years to an amazing man, Scott Thompson. He owns a local travel agency “Total Travel”. Since he’s in the travel biz we really like to take advantage of the good deals and we haven’t given ourselves much time for kids. However, we have two dogs and two cats that keep us pretty entertained. We do have a plan for kids...my parents and in-laws hope sooner rather than later! What is one piece of advice you would give to someone buying or selling property? I definitely advise sellers to price competitively. Homes are definitely selling but they need to be priced at current market value. A lot of times people want to try higher... unfortunately in this market they will just sit. My advice for buyers is to buy soon. The timing couldn’t be better! We know we are at all time lows for interest rates & prices and the rule is “buy low and sell high” I think the time is now! Tell us about your favorite Holiday tradition(s)? On Christmas Eve we get everyone together & have an amazing dinner, we go to candle light service at church and usually return home and play a board game or two. Also, I have never turned down a New Year’s party! New Year’s day is actually my birthday so I have to make sure to bring in the New Year with a big celebration! What is the most interesting property you have ever listed? Wow...this is a good question! It would probably be a house I had listed when I first started selling real estate. It was a rental and had about six guys living in it. They were the dirtiest boys I had ever met. I would show up for open houses and they would still be sleeping and had obviously thrown a huge party the night before...I often had to clean up after them and it was disgusting and interesting to say the least! I learned to bring antibacterial wipes with me everywhere. What would you tell someone from outside the area about the value of life in the Wenatchee Valley? Traveling to other cities has taught me that Wenatchee truly is one of the most beauti- ful, inexpensive, and safe places to live. The quality of life here is exceptional. Even though it is a smaller town there is something for everyone. Skiing, hiking, boating, arts, festivals, wine, food, golf, etc. If someone tells me they are board in Wenatchee I would tell them they haven’t left their house! What is your favorite Holiday beverage? Egg Nog Latte, I wait for this all year! OPEN HOUSES 135 N.
