End of Summer Family Fun & BBQ Aug 12 Everyone is invited to come out to Camp Whittier from 1-5pm on Aug. 12 for swimming, field activities, archery, hiking and food! Bring your favorite side dish or dessert and we’ll supply the main dish. Suggested donation is $5/person or $20/family. Camp Whittier is a short drive located at 2400 CA-154, Santa Barbara, CA 93105. Father & Son Laser Tag POSTPONED 9/6 Due to unforeseeable circumstances, the Dads and Sons Laser tag night has been Postponed until September 6 at the SYV Christian Academy at 7pm. There will be pizza and drinks before play time. Fee is $15/person and is for dads and their sons 8 years old and older. Congrats to Mike Gleim, Executive Pastor We are happy to announce that Mike Gleim has recently accepted a position as Executive Pastor at the Ambassador Church in Anaheim, Ca. where he will work as the chief of staff over 12 staff members and a team of church-planting residents. We deeply appreciate Mike’s teaching and building into the lives of our youth for the past five years. We will have a celebration for him after our worship service next Sunday, Aug. 5.

HOME GROUPS Develop supportive friendships as you learn the Bible and pray together on a weekly basis. Home Groups begin in the Fall, breaking in the Summer. For information, mark the “Home Group” box on your connection card and drop it in the offering bag.

AWANA Leader Training is Aug 21 at 6pm Consider making an eternal impact in the lives of our children in the valley by becoming an Awana Leader. Awana is a club for kids 2 years through 8th grade. Every Tuesday night at Awana we have fun, memorize bible verses, learn about the Gospel, and do special projects. Leader training is on Tuesday, August 21st from 6-9pm at the SYV Christian Academy. Jordan & Ariel Kranda Coming Aug 4-5 After our Youth Pastor candidate Jordan Kranda and his wife Ariel visited our church several weeks ago, there was a very positive response by our teens, parents of teens and our church leaders. So, we have asked them to return this coming Saturday and Sunday, Aug 4-5 to get to know them better.
