PARISH EVENTS IN OUR PARISH & ELSEWHERE
Prayer for an End to Infanticide The U.S. Senate recently failed to pass the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act—legislation that prohibits infanticide by ensuring that a child born alive following an attempted abor-tion would receive the same degree of care to preserve her or his life and health as would be given to any other child born alive at the same gestational age. Please join us in prayer for an end to infanticide: “Jesus, Lord of Life, transform the hearts of all elected leaders to recognize that infanticide is wrong and must not be tolerated. Open hearts and minds to recognize and defend the precious gift of every human life.” Catholic Relief Services Collection Next weekend we will take up the Catholic Relief Services (CRS) collection, which helps children, women and families around the world. The six worldwide organizations supported by the collection provide immediate humanitarian aid, pastoral sup-port and disaster relief to our suffering brothers and sisters around the globe. This collection offers an opportunity for each of us to help Jesus in disguise. Please give generously to the Catholic Relief Services collection. St. Rita's Prayer Quilt Ministry St. Rita's Prayer Quilt Ministry was founded in November of 2016. This started as an idea to make prayer quilts for those in the parish that were in need of care for illness. Prayer quilts are distributed by Father Bernard or one of the Deacons; the group gets the names from nominations from the parish. There are nom-ination forms on the table (and in the parish office) in English and Spanish, please fill one out if you know of anyone in our par-ish that is going through any kind of illness, physical, emotional, mental and spiritual; forms can be returned to the table, placed in the collection plate or left with the parish staff. Once the form is received, the group will select a prayer quilt for the nominee and make arrangements for it to be delivered. To date 60 prayer quilts have been distributed to parishioners. If you are interested in joining St. Rita's Prayer Quilt Ministry, the group meets for fellowship and to sew quilts on the second Monday of each month from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. Whether you are a beginner sewer or an expert any one is welcome to join!
