We are a Catholic Community, united in the Eucharist, living as disciples of Christ, through the practice of Stewardship.

Lenten Confession Schedule As we continue to allow the Lord to form and shape our spiritual lives during this

Lenten season, we turn to Him for his merciful forgiveness of our sins.

April 17 – Noon – 1:00 pm

April 18 – following the Holy Thursday Mass of the Lord’s Supper

April 19 – Following the Good Friday Service

April 20 – No Confessions offered on Holy Saturday

Please remember that the regular scheduled Confession times are also available.

Passion/Palm Sunday This final Sunday of Lent reminds us of the solemn entrance Jesus made into

Jerusalem to experience his passion and death. The palm branches that we receive

on that day remind us that Jesus is truly the King of Heaven and Earth. As our King he

shows us the way to his Kingdom by way of his passion. His path of life is our path of

faith. Let us join him in living his life, dying to sin and rising to live a new life with him.

Please place these new palms in prominent places in your homes.

The appropriate way to discard your old palms is by burning them; if you do not want

to burn them yourself, please bring them to the church and place them in the

container in the Gathering Space marked ‘Old Palms’.

Easter Sunday Mission Collection On Easter Sunday and during the Easter Season, our Diocese has asked us to extend

our generosity to the missionary work of the Church. This work is the universal work

of the Church to proclaim the Gospel of Christ to all of God’s creation. Everyone

should have received the letter from Bishop Kemme with the envelope for the Easter,

Mission Sunday collection. The generous donations placed in these envelopes will be

sent to the Bishop’s office to be used for the Missions of the Church. Along with this

special Easter collection I would ask for your ongoing generous tithing to our parish

here at Church of the Resurrection by using your regular parish tithing envelope.

Divine Mercy Novena and Chaplet In the year 2000, our late Holy Father Saint John Paul II

canonized a young Polish nun, Maria Faustina. In her diary

Saint Faustina reveals how the Lord chose her to be the

apostle of His Divine Mercy. Therefore, she teaches us what

our Lord taught her as we call upon God to, “have mercy on us

and on the whole world.’ The Divine Mercy Novena and

Chaplet was also given to St. Faustina from our Lord to

intensify the reality of the Mercy of God. The Chaplet can be

said anytime, but the Lord specifically asked that it be recited

as a novena, especially on the nine days before the Feast of

Mercy. And He promised, “By this Novena (of Chaplets) I will

grant every possible grace to souls.” (796).

Each day from April 20 through April 27 – Divine Mercy

Novena prayers and chaplet will take place at 3 pm in

church. The Feast of the Divine Mercy is Sunday, April 28,

when there will be a 3 pm Divine Mercy Holy Hour and

Confessions.
