READING I Jeremiah A Reading from the Book of the Prophet Jeremiah Jeremiah said: “I hear the whisperings of many: ‘Terror on every side! Denounce! Let us denounce him!’ All those who were my friends are on the watch for any misstep of mine. ‘Perhaps he will be trapped; then we can prevail, and take our vengeance on him.’ But the Lord is with me, like a mighty champion: my persecu-tors will stumble, they will not triumph. In their failure they will be put to utter shame, to lasting, unforget-table confusion. O Lord of hosts, you who test the just, who probe mind and heart, let me witness the vengeance you take on them, for to you I have entrusted my cause. Sing to the Lord, Praise the Lord, For he has rescued the life of the poor from the power of the wick-ed!”

It is with great sadness that I an-nounce that our Director of Reli-gious Education and Youth Minis-ter, Mare Draper, has submitted her resignation effective June 30, 2020. She is off to new adventures and we wish her well. Mare has been part of the Holy Family Staff for many years and will be sorely missed. She and her family will re-main part of our parish family so we will still see her around. God bless you Mare and thank you for all you have done for Holy Family. Fr Mark

Racism arises when—either con-sciously or unconsciously—a person holds that his or her own race or ethnicity is superior, and therefore judges persons of other races or eth-nicities as inferior and unworthy of equal regard. When this conviction or attitude leads individuals or groups to exclude, ridicule, mistreat, or unjustly discriminate against persons on the basis of their race or ethnicity, it is sinful. Racist acts are sinful because they violate justice. They reveal a failure to acknowledge the human dignity of the persons offended, to recognize them as the neighbors Christ calls us to love (Matthew 22:39)
