The Feast of the Epiphany of the Lord is sometimes called Little
Christmas, because on this day we celebrate Jesus’ Epiphany, or
in other words, the “Manifestation” or “Showing” the truth of
His Messiah-ship and His Divinity to the whole world, Gentile
and Jew alike. We are all heirs to the Kingdom of Christ, and the
Kings from the Orient, or the “Magi” represent the Gentiles, the
non-Jews, who accept Jesus as the Savior. Our hymns sing of
this, as well as the hymns we sing today. Also, in certain coun-
tries, this is the day on which gifts are exchanged, a symbol of
the gifts brought to Jesus by the “Wise Men”. So we may say, “A
Happy and Holy Little Christmas to all!

Help Holy Cross School Recycle and Earn!
Holy Cross School participates in a fundraising-thru-recycling
program that helps us earn supplies, equipment, even cash
simply by collecting:
Empty inkjet and laser cartridges
Used cell phones
Small electronics
Please help by donating these items to us.
Thank you! Collection boxes are located inside the school and
inside the front doors of the church.
Every Wednesday the parish community will
have Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
available in the main church from 7:00pm to
8:00pm. You are invited to stop in during this
hour for as long or as little as you like. This will
be a great opportunity during the week to spend
some quiet time with the Lord. The hour will
conclude with Evening Prayer from the Divine Office at 7:45pm
followed by Solemn Benediction at 8:00pm. Please bring your
family and friends. The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be
celebrated during this hour in the seasons of Lent and Advent. If
you have any questions, please contact the parish office.
“Exploring God’s Word”
You are invited to come at 10am on Tuesdays in room 9, for our
ongoing weekly Bible Study series with Jeff Cavins, “The Bible
Timeline” on DVD. It’s not too late to come and learn and be-
come excited about reading the Bible. This then makes your Bi-
ble reading & even Sunday Mass reading come alive like never
before. Bring a friend. More info call 446-0694—Joan.

A Family Perspective
Today’s gospel tells us “all Jerusa-
lem” was upset because “King Herod
was deeply troubled.” A similar rip-
ple effect happens in families; one
person’s negative attitude can affect the whole family. If
you want a peaceful and joyful home, it must start with
you. Be peaceful and joyful!
