Helping Services, a private, non-profit agency, serves the northeast corner of Iowa. Our mission: to support and promote the health of children and adults living in the area.
We focus our resources on preventing substance abuse, ending domestic violence and child abuse, connecting youth with adults who care, and supporting the needs of families and parents.
Our mission is accomplished through:• Providing information and education on alcohol, tobacco and other drug use to schools,
community events, and area groups through trainings and presentations• Training staff and volunteers to respond to emergencies relating to domestic, sexual and
child abuse, as well as providing advocacy services -- 24 hour Crisis Line, safe homes and transportation -- to those who need support and safety
• Organizing trainings, activities and support for the youth and adults involved in the mentoring program
• Sponsoring and facilitating parenting classes, family events and programs for children• Collaborating with coalitions to create awareness about the communities’ health and safety
concerns

Believe with us this season by giving a gift.At Helping Services, we believe in nurturing families, in safe children, in responsible youth, in positive relationships, and in healthy communities. We are thankful for the many people who believe in these ideas too, and have expressed that by responding to our annual appeal.
Will you respond? With your help, we work to make these ideas into realities, bringing services to those who need them. Your financial gift says this work is important and can be accomplished. Please visit www.helpingservices.org/donate, to make a secure gift today.
For the fourth year, some of the families that Helping Services supports have been blessed to receive beds from Slumberland, through their “Homes for the Holidays” program. Slumberland believes giving back to the community is not only a good idea, but an essential part of doing business. As a family-owned business, Slumberland is proud to support activities and organizations that strengthen families and provide assistance to children and families in need.
Visit Santa every night before Christmas Eve
Santa wants to give a Creative Book* to every child. This open-ended book allows children to create freely, to ask questions openly, and to share fully with the adults in their life. Full of pages to color, tasks to decipher, and ideas to think about - Enjoy!
Thanks to Luana Savings Bank for their help in making this book possible.
