Case-Study 1 Socially Responsible Behaviour

Two hundred students have come to appear in standard X, board examination. Out of total

200 candidates, 120 are girls. Their board roll numbers begin from 12,34,201. The roll

number series contains first, girls roll numbers, followed by that of boys. All the students

have reached the entry gate of the school by school buses and are standing in 10 queues.

The physical distance between any two candidates is 2 m. In order to ensure Covid-19

appropriate behaviour, two guards on duty at the entry gate are sending them inside, roll

number-wise, in the group of 20, each. It takes three minutes for each group to enter inside

the school. Each group is entering school premises with gap of 1 minute. The first group

enters at 1:10 p.m. Before, allowing their entry, the guards check their body temperature. When the body temperature of the child is found to be correct, he/ she is allowed entry.

Based on the above information answer the following questions by choosing the correct

option from the given four options in each question:

(i) The entry time of last group of girls was

(a) 1:30 p.m. (b) 1:32 p.m. (c) 1:40 p.m. (d) 1:30 a.m.

() The entry time interval of the boy having roll number 12,34,380 was

(6) 1:43 p.m. - 1:45 p.m.

(d) 1:42 p.m. - 1:45 p.m.

(a) 1:42 p.m. - 2:45 p.m.

(c) 1:42 a.m. - 1:45 p.m.

i) The total physical gap maintained between the students of any queue was

(d) 34 m (a) 40 mn (b) 56 m (c) 38 m

(iv) With every group having entered inside, the guard marks 20', in his visitor's book.

The sum of entries made by him when the fourth group is about to enter is

c) 78 (d) 45 (a) 12 (b) 60

(u) The body temperature of each child was recorded to be 98.6° C. The seventh multiple

of numerical value of this temperature is

(c) 690.2 (d) 234.5 (a) 123.4 (6) 678.4

Self Help Case-Study 2

Three class mates Anand, Shekhar and Najakat having roll numbers 23, 46 and 92

respectively, who live in a hostel, have fixed the following rules to distribute duties, among

themselves.

Rulel: Month number of the current date will be subtracted from the roll number, 5

times. If the answer is positive, he/they will have duty to clean the room, that day

Rule 2: The roll number will be divided with the current week day number. Ifthe remainder

is one, the concerned student will wash the clothes.

Rule 3: Sum of date and month number of the current date will be added to the ro number. If this sum becomes equal to the roll number of the student, he wall be

giving party to his friends.
