Holiday Camp for Kids Making Marble Cards Supplies List and Instructions
Supplies List
- Protective sheet (a garbage bag will do)
- Shallow dish (pie dish or cookie sheets)
- Food colouring dye
- A stick to swirl the dye (toothpicks or chop sticks)
- Shaving cream (not shaving gel)
- Protective gloves (disposable surgical gloves work great to limit hand staining)
- Cardstock paper (regular paper is too thin)
- Piece of heavy cardboard or large spatula
Instructions
Step 1: Lay down the protective sheet and place the shallow dish on top of the sheet
Step 2:
Spray a shallow layer of shaving foam to coat the bottom of the dish.
Step 3:
Drip food colouring onto the foam.
Step 4:
Use your stick to gently swirl the colours into the foam. Careful not to completely mix the colours or the final marbling effect will not be as visible.
Step 5:
Place your cardstock onto the foam making sure that the entire face of the card is touching the foam.
Step 6:
Carefully grab the corner of the card and remove it from the foam.
Step 7:
Using the cardboard or spatula, scrape off any excess foam. This can also create cool new designs!
Step 8:
Lay out the cardstock on a drying rack or on your drop sheet to dry.
NOTE: You can repeat steps 3-3 to create different new layers of colour on your foam and repeat the process. Experiment and have fun!!
