With the help of Electrograss, electric fences can be designed invisible for the visitor’s eyes. Depending on individual requirements, we can offer protective fences in heights from 0,3 to 3 metres. For the protection of planted areas, trees and security glass. Boundary for dry and wet trenches. With the help of Electrolianas it is easy to protect tree-trunks, tree tops or single branches unobstrusively.

The electrograss is made of stainless steel and plastic material. Due to security reasons, small balls are attached to the endings of the wire of Long Grass and Electrobamboo.

InstructionsGeneral

Protection of tree trunks and treetops

Installation

For installation stick grass into the ground while following the desired direction. The plastic base should end about 5cm above the ground to guarantee a proper insulati-on. Then connect single grass with the one next to it. To do this, press wire endings into the crimp sleeves. Connect Electro-grass with a standard power energizer for electric fences.

All warning notices and limitations for standard electric fences are required. Electrograss must not be used as a se-curity relevant barrier.

Instructions for connecting two wires:

1. Bend grass wires as shown in the drawings.

2. Set up the positions and distances between the grasses.

Distances: Short grass approx. 0,50 m Long grass approx. 1,10 -1,20 m Electrobamboo approx. 1,40-1,50 m

3. Drill hole for soil support.

WARNING important! The plastic pole (soil support) has to stick at least 50 mm out of the ground or themulch. It is necessary to guarantee the isolation!

4. Stick grass into the ground and if necessary bend blades as you wish.

5. Set up the connections between the grass with the enclosed crimp sleeves. Remove the nodular ends on one wire of surrounding grasses with a wire cutter. Put both ends into the sleeve and press the crimp sleeve. Colour the crimp sleeve (i.e. matt black).

6. Colour grasses if you wish. You can adjust the grasses to the background with colourspray. We recom- mend our “Camouflage spray” in proper RAL colours.

Protection of trees, Protection of treetops and superficial root areas (for example in ape enclosures)

Electroliana exists in 3 different typesLiana A with simple wire stalk for protection of treesLiana B with double wire stalk for protection of treesLiana C with triple wire stalk for special protection

Electroliana B with dou-plewire and thick base

Options of construction: reticular or spiral structure

If you attach the Liana in a reticu lar structure it may will affect the secondary growth of the tree. To avoid this you should move the structure upwards every 1 or 2 years.

If you attach the Liana in a spiral structure to the trunk, you have to loosen and unbend the Liana two times a year, to avoid overexpandation of the Liana.

Design: normal base (profil: circular) or thick base

For the reticular structur you need this many Lianas = 1 pair

Perimeter of trunk in cmHeight of the part of tree you want to protect

1 m 2 m 3 m 4 mPerimeter to 60 cm 2,50 m 5 m 7,50 m 10 m

Protection of tree trunks and treetops

One Liana can be produced with a maximum length of 10 metres. When ordering, please give informati-on about the height of the part you need to protect for and the thickness of the trunk. We produce the length you need.If you want to attach the Liana with a spiral structure, we will send you connected lianas.

Lianas with thick base

In the past there were some problems with the use of the Electro Liana because of ants and snails, which caused short-circuits at the feet of the Liana and unwanted sounds. To avoid these problems we created a new Liana with a thicker base, which enlarges the distance to the ground. With its irregular border it looks nearly invisible.

WARNING: Wear safety googles when mounting!

1. Attach the Liana paired at the favoured high to the trunk (with a stainless steel nail or a rubber band )

2. Connect the two parallel strings of the Liana every 100 cm. This will form a reticular structure over the trunk. Please use black cable connector for the con-nection of the strings.

Connection of the strings with cable connector

Reticular structure

ElectrolianaConstruction manual

According to the thickness (perimeter) of the tree trunk you need 1 pair of Lianas per 60 cm. The Lianas have to be about 50 per cent longer than the part of the trunk you want to protect.

3. Now connect the wire stalk of the Liana. You have to connect it in a special way, so the Liana cannot distort against the trunk.

It works best when you twist the long parts of the wire with each other.

4. Connection with a standard power energizer - disconnect connector, cut off insulation, bend round one wire of Liana and connect both wires with a crimp sleeve.

You can take use one mounting part per running meter. Sometimes you won‘t need it because of the structure of the Liana. For connecting the mounting part with the Liana, cut off carefully the plastic co-ating of liana and press Liana into the on the tree attached mounting parts.

5. connection

To attach to the trunk, you can use a rubber band or tree straps

Spiral structure If you attach the Liana in a spiral structure to the trunk, you have to loosen and un-bend the liana two times a year, to avoid overexpandating of the Liana.

For attaching the Liana in spiral structure, you must use mounting parts.

WARNING: Wear safety googles when mounting!

For attaching the Liana in spiral structure, you need 3 mounting parts per running metre.

For connecting mounting part with Liana: Attach mounting part to the tree, cut off the plastic coating of Liana carefully, press it into the mounting part.

Connect Liana with standard power ener-gizer for electric fences. Explanation on previous page.

Climbing liana

Climbing lianas are made from sturdy ropes covered with a permanently elastic plastic sheath. They are composed of a malleable metal core and one or three single strands twisted in itself. The diameter of the lianas are varying, but can also be produced on costumers demand in different strengths. It is possible to produce the liana with or wi-thout side branches. Based on the material composition, our lianas are very strong and more durable than natural lianas, but look confusingly similar to the natural model.

The vines can be used as a climbing aid for small animals; especially small species of monkeys or sloths, etc.

Climbing liana exists in 3 different types

Climbing liana simpleClimbing liana tripleClimbing liana triple with branches

Technical information and installation:

Moreover, it is possible to produce climbing lianas with a thicker diameter according to customer

Colour: brown-gray-dark green marbled

Lengths of about 10 m or ordered individually (not over 20m)The lianas are supplied with two eyelets for installations at stable hooks on walls, rocks, or climbing trees.

The lianas can be bent and tie together. We recommend bending the vines spiral or turning in „zigzag“ to achieve a natural lock.
