Hinckley Parks Primary School Opportunies Wisdom Legacy Dear Parents, What a scorching few days we have had with temperatures reaching record figures during the middle of the week. All of the children (and staff) took full advantage of this of course, none more so than our Year 6 children who en- joyed two consecuve aſternoons of team games and challenges which culminated in a mass water fight on our field. Great fun was had by all as I am sure you can imagine, although I ’m not so sure that Mrs Hollingworth appreci- ated the absolute drenching that she received from the children in her ‘bubble’! You will have listened to the Prime Minister’s announcement regarding the return to school for all children from September. In Leicestershire, this actually means late August due to our term dates and we are so looking forward to our school returning to some kind of normality, and to being able to welcome all children back for the start of the new academic year. We are sll awaing government guidance as to how this will be achieved and the necessary safety measures that will need to be implemented but we are determined to make this possible ready for the start of the Autumn term on Wednesday 26th August 2020. I will provide more details as soon as I possibly can regarding this. Also, there are currently no plans for the school to remain open during the summer break. This means that school will close for the end of this academic year on Friday 10th July 2020 at 3.10pm. There may be summer camps and other similar provisions in place throughout the area and I will make every effort to signpost parents to these as soon as we receive further informaon. We are very excited to see the internal learning environment connue to develop during the course of this week. A historical meline, including relevant informaon about the local area, is now proudly in place on the Year 6 stair- case and full wall displays which celebrate different religions and diversity along with our own school achievements have also been installed. We are very proud of our school and our environment—please see photographs further on in the newsleer. Finally, it is very rewarding and sasfying to see and hear of our school ’s reputaon spreading wider than just our local community. I am aware that this newsleer, and the informaon contained within it, has certainly crossed county borders recently and has reached areas across the UK. Thank you to friends and family for sharing it and please connue to do so as we are keen to let as many people as possible know about our wonderful school. Thank you for your connued support. D Harding, Head Teacher EYFS—New Starters We are very excited to be welcoming our new EYFS children and families in August. Under usual circumstances we would now be holding our ‘stay and play’ visits along with a range of other transion arrangements but this isn’t possible of course at the moment. We have rearranged this for the start of the Autumn term and have added lots of informaon re- garding the transion on to our school website. Please take the me to have a look and also please pass this message on to any families who you know are new to our school. Newsleer 38 - 26th June Star Learners We have three star learners for this week: Lucy Massey & Eva Abbo (FS) Both girls produced the most beauful pieces of handwring this week. The leers were perfectly formed and ready to be joined—I am sure a pen licence is not too far away for either of them. Daisy Barnes (Y6) Daisy, helped by her dad, made a fantasc model of a stockade as part of her Crime & Punishment pro- ject. It really is a fabulous piece of work. Well done!
