The unique HIGH SULFUR SCR catalyst (RCV) by Hug Engineering is a catalyst that is tailor made for the abatement of NOX when using high sulfur residual fuels.Comparing its performance to a conventional SCR catalysts it shows an identical high tem-perature NOx abatement but thanks to its structure and formula it has a lower sulfur oxidati-on rate. This property results in a lower opacity of the exhaust gas and less blue smoke when the engine is run on a fuel with a high sulfur content. The RCV has, moreover, a high deNOx activity at low exhaust temperatures. Besides power plants, more than 100 sea-going vessels have been equipped with this durable HIGH SULFUR SCR catalyst.
