01 • Hide & Show

AboutThis document provides an overview of available settings for the Divi-Modules – Hide & Show module.

It discusses only those settings which are unique to this module and does not provide any information on settings which are common to most Divi modules.

For more information on common Divi module settings, please consult Elegant Themes online documentation.

Further more, this document provides only limited information on installing and activating the module. It assumes the reader is already familiar with these concepts and has some prior experience with both WordPress and the Divi Builder.

Important: Requires the Divi Theme, Extra Theme, or Divi Builder Plugin to be installed and activated.

Divi-Modules plugins are created and tested using the latest Divi Theme and Builder versions. Backwards compatibility is not guaranteed, however, plugins should function normally with at least the following versions:

03 • Hide & Show

InstallationAfter completing your Divi-Modules purchase, you will receive a confirmation email providing you with your Download Link and Software License Key. This information can also be found in your Divi-Modules Account Purchases and Downloads pages.

After downloading your Divi-Modules purchase, upload it to your website’s WordPress Dashboard and click Activate. More detailed instructions on Installing WordPress Plugins can be found online.

If your Divi-Modules product was purchased from the Elegant Themes Divi Marketplace, your product license is with Elegant Themes, not Divi-Modules. For all product licensing, updates and support, see your Divi Marketplace Customer Dashboard.

04 • Hide & Show

Software LicenseIn order to receive periodic updates, you will need to activate your Software License. To do this, navigate to the Divi-Modules menu item in your WordPress Dashboard. Go to the My Modules submenu, enter your Software License Key, and click Activate.

To manage your Software License, please login to your Divi-Modules Account Purchases page.

If your Divi-Modules product was purchased from the Elegant Themes Divi Marketplace, your product license is with Elegant Themes, not Divi-Modules. For all product licensing, updates and support, see your Divi Marketplace Customer Dashboard.

05 • Hide & Show

Divi-Modules – Hide & ShowDivi-Modules – Hide & Show lets you hide and show website content based on logged-in status, user role, date and time. Use it to hide content during website development or to show targeted content to specific users at specific times.

06 • Hide & Show

SettingsDivi-Modules – Hide & Show adds several new fields to the Visibility toggle of every Section, Row, Column, and Module element in the Divi Builder.

Hide & ShowHere you can choose to hide or show an element from the website front-end.

Hide From… / Show To…Here you can choose to hide or show an element based on logged-in status or user role.

Note: If at any time you add or delete user roles in your Wordpress setup, you may need to reset the Show To… settings.

Start Hiding / Start ShowingHere you can choose to start hiding or showing this element on a particular date and time.

Stop Hiding / Stop ShowingHere you can choose to stop hiding or showing this element on a particular date and time.

07 • Hide & Show

Targeted ContentUse Hide & Show to control who sees your content. Create special offers, notifications, and other user specific content, then use the Hide From… setting to make the content invisible to specific users, such as Logged-Out Users.

08 • Hide & Show

Website DevelopmenttUse Hide & Show to hide new website content from visitors and subscribers, until such time as you’re ready to publish it. Use the Show To… setting to maintain full visibility for content editors, such as Admins, Editors, and Authors.

Timed ContentUse Hide & Show to create timed content, such as limited offers, holiday specials, or temporary reminders. Use the Start Date and Stop Date settings to automatically show and hide your content at specific dates and times.

10 • Hide & Show

CompatibilityDivi-Modules – Hide & Show is compatible with all standard Divi Builder modules, Woocommerce modules, and our own Divi-Modules products.

To add compatibility for additional third-party modules, go to the Divi-Modules > My Modules > Hide & Show settings panel in your WordPress Admin area. Here you can enter a comma separated list of unique slugs (classes) for the modules you wish to add.

To find the unique slug of the module you wish to add, first add an instance of the module to a page in your website. Then, inspect the module’s HTML using your browser’s developer tools. The unique slug (class) will appear directly after the et_pb_module class. In the example opposite, the unique slug is dvmd_table_maker.

Once you have found your module’s unique slug, enter it into the Add Module field of the Hide & Show settings panel, as shown.

Note: If your copy of Divi-Modules – Hide & Show was purchased from the Elegant Themes Divi Marketplace, the Add Module field will not be available to you. To enable it, you will need install any product that has been purchased directly from divi-modules.com. The easiest way to do this is to download and install a FREE copy of our Divi-Modules – Simple Heading.
