Hibernation occurs when an animal becomes inactive, or “sleeps”, during the short, cold, harsh days of winter.

Some hibernating animals include bears, pygmy possum, bats, frogs, snakes, lizards and snails.

Hibernation is a time when some animals go to sleep, they sleep all of the way through the

winter.
