2018 TUBA-EUPHONIUM WORKSHOP
Welcome to the 35th Annual United States Army Band Tuba-Euphonium Workshop; the largest of its kind in the world. We are proud to host this event here at Brucker Hall on Fort Myer-home of The United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own.”
Since the inception of this workshop in 1983, there have been many notable and brilliant performances. As
you peruse this year’s schedule, you’ll see another world-class lineup featuring Gail Robertson, Mike Roylance,
Derek Fenstermacher, Tormod Flaten, Alex Lapins, Bob Tucci, Phil Sinder, and John Storey.
Once again we have organized a Mock Service Band Audition which will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday and is open to the public. Our annual Tuba-Euphonium Workshop Composition Contest includes nine great entries and the winning composition will be showcased in a recital on Friday at 1:00 p.m.
The JBM-HH Family and Morale, Welfare, and Recreation of-fice put together a wonderful exhibit hall with 12 vendors. Check them out in the Fort Myer Community Center on Friday from noon to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Also, please spread the word that ALL workshop events will be live web streamed at usarmyband.com for those who are unable to attend in person. I hope you will enjoy your visit to Brucker Hall and leave with fond memories of great performances, new insights, and lasting friendships.
