Why?

Low and middle income communities lack access to healthy food, especially fresh fruits and vegetables.

A significant number of residents need nutritional education and guidance to recognize how healthy foods can fight chronic obesity and disease.

Manhattan: In East Harlem, 31% are overweight and another 31% are obese. This is the highest percentage among New York City.

Brooklyn:In Sunset Park, 1 in 5 adults are obese and9% have diabetes.

Bronx In Central Bronx, 41% of residents live below the poverty level. 8% - 16% of adults are suffering from diabetes.

How Can We Help?

Farmers Markets provide a community solution and make healthy eating possible.

All markets are equipped to process EBT, SNAP, WIC, FMNP, Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Coupons, and NYC DOHMH Health Bucks.
