● Intercompany Transactions module to capture and match intercompany transactions at the invoice level

● Web-based Task Automation module to automate and chain together Hyperion Financial Management tasks such as Load/Extract and Consolidate

● Point of View filtered by security enables users to see only those elements of the Scenario, Entity, ICP, Account and Custom 1...4 dimensions to which they have access. This feature makes system navigation easier.

In addition, Hyperion Financial Management 4.0 presents administration and compliance enhancements as well as Web usability enhancements such as a consolidation progress bar, document attachment capability, expanded workspaces, and new features for Web Data Entry forms.

New User InterfaceHyperion Financial Management 4.0 introduces a new Web user interface. The new design enables the administrator to tailor the interface to more closely match how an end user interacts with the system, enabling easier navigation and customization.

Page LayoutThe new home page is divided into three main areas:

● View Pane

Page 6: HFM 4.0 New Features

2 Hyperion Financial Management New Features

● Masthead window and top bar menu

● Main window

Figure 1 Sample of New User Interface

The above example shows the home page as it is displayed for an Advanced user. The Advanced user can switch between Advanced and Basic modes by using the menu option in the masthead area. The Basic user can select from a choice of workspaces in the Project View, or select tasks from a drop-down list. The masthead is the top level area that includes the application name as well as the Hyperion logo and product name. The main window shows the detail of the task or document that you selected from either the View Pane or the drop-down list.

View PaneThe View Pane is displayed in the left panel of the Hyperion Financial Management Web page. You can minimize or enlarge it as needed. The View Pane window can display a Project View or Browser View, depending on the selected option. The Project View lists the collection of workspaces for each user. You can expand each workspace to show the items that make up the workspace. The Browser View lists all documents and tasks within the application that the user is allowed to access. The Browser View is a split pane. The bottom pane reflects the contents of the item selected in the top pane. You can double-click parent items displayed in the bottom pane to expand them. You can select child items, for example, document names, or tasks, with a single click, which displays the item in the main window.

Top MenuThe new user interface provides a general top bar menu for File, View, Administration, and Help options.

Page 7: HFM 4.0 New Features

6 Hyperion Financial Management New Features

Task AutomationTask Automation is a new Web-based module that provides you with a method for chaining together a series of tasks into a taskflow. You can use Task Automation to automate tasks that you commonly perform using Hyperion Financial Management.

When you work with Hyperion Financial Management, you routinely perform tasks such as loading data, running calculations and translations, consolidating parent entities and extracting data through data extract or extended analytics. A taskflow is a sequence of tasks that you can create in Task Automation. Any user defined with the Task Automation role can access, create and maintain taskflows to perform required Hyperion Financial Management operations.

The following Hyperion Financial Management activities are available in Task Automation:

● Allocate

● Calculate

● Translate

● Consolidate

● Calculate contribution

● Load Journals

● Extract Journals

● Load Data

● Extract Data

● Execute Journal Action

● Extended Analytics

For more information, see the Hyperion Financial Management User’s Guide.

Point of View Filtered by SecurityHyperion Financial Management introduces metadata filtering based on security in the Point of View and in Web data grids. Filtering the display of metadata facilitates navigation in large applications and enables you to keep certain metadata information confidential.

There are two new application attributes to activate this feature:

● EnableMetadataSecurityFiltering

● EnableICPfiltering

The following dimensions are applicable for security filtering based on the security class assigned to each member: Scenario, Entity, Account, and C1 to C4. The metadata filtering on the ICP dimension cannot be based on the security classes applied to the ICP members because the ICP dimension is a system-generated dimension based on the IsICP attribute set for the Entity dimension. It is based on the security class assigned to “SecurityasPartner” in the Entity dimension.

Page 11: HFM 4.0 New Features

Administration and Compliance Enhancements 7

Hyperion Financial Management 4.0 introduces a new security right called Metadata that enables end users to view the metadata members in the hierarchy but with a None access right regarding the data attached to those members.

Figure 3 Sample Web Point of View

Note that users have implied access to the parent and ancestors of any member to which they have been granted access. This means that users see those ancestors and parents in a hierarchical tree structure but are not able to access them.

HFM 4.0 Metadata filtering supports Organization by Period setting. When the Org by Period setting is specified for the Entity list enumeration, the system checks the Active account value for the Parent/Child node to determine whether the entity is active for the given Scenario/Year/Period.

For more information, see the Hyperion Financial Management Administrator’s Guide.

Administration and Compliance EnhancementsThe following administration and compliance enhancements have been added in this release.

Consolidation Progress Bar and Running TasksThe Running Tasks module enables the administrator or the end user to gauge the progress of Consolidation, Data Loads, or Extended Analytics.

Page 12: HFM 4.0 New Features
