Survey rates independent agents
Network scores highlyHOME Sale Network, a national network of
independent estate agents across England, Scotland and Wales has
exceeded the national average for customer satisfaction, according
to a recent survey by The Property Academy. The annual Home Moving
Trends Survey, now in its fourth year, invited UK-based estate
agents to take part with the aim of identifying the reasons behind
home movers actions. The data is then used to improve estate agents
customer service. The survey results show that 84 per cent of
sellers who have actively engaged an estate agent in the last 12
months would be happy to recommend them to a friend. After inviting
their customers to complete the survey, Home Sale Network was
delighted to find that its member agents collectively received an
even higher score of 87 per cent of customers who would be happy to
recommend them. The survey also revealed that agents of the network
also ranked higher than the surveys national average when rated by
their customers for their knowledge, communication and personal
service qualities that each member requires to be invited onto the
network. David Stuart-Smith from Andrew Grant Estate Agency, the
member of Home Sale Network in Worcestershire, said When you engage
an estate agency you are normally asking them to handle the sale of
your most valuable possession and to help you through a period that
can be one of the more stressful in your life. At Andrew Grant we
work very hard to provide a high level of customer service and we
are glad to see the feedback backs this up. The survey also
indicated that when deciding which agent to instruct with the sale
of their home, a top priority was finding an agent that home movers
instinctively trusted. Managing Partner David Stuart-Smith said :
With 2011 looking to be another challenging year for home movers,
choosing an estate agent you can trust is more important than ever.
More than 100 agency firms responded to the Property Academy Home
Moving Trends survey with collective representation from over 1,000
branches across England and Wales and gave a representative split
of property types and price ranges up to the 1 million bracket.
We found the right home at right timeFOR many, finding a
spacious luxury home in a stunning setting for an affordable price
may seem like a dream. But for one Herefordshire couple that dream
came true at Taylor Wimpey Midlands Shobdon Oaks development in
Shobdon. Craig and Liz Costford had been hunting for the perfect
countryside retreat and were in the process of buying what they
thought was their dream home when the sale fell through. Craig
said: We wanted a bigger house in a more rural setting and had been
looking for a while. Eventually we found what we thought was the
home for us and were in the process of buying it when the chain
fell through. We were understandably upset as we had to start the
whole house search again from scratch but now were so glad we did.
We saw an advert for Shobdon Oaks and thought it was worth
visiting. When we arrived we were taken aback as it isnt like most
new-build developments wed seen before. Only a handful of homes are
being built and the setting is very secluded. Its absolutely
perfect for us. They chose a three-bedroomed detached Kirkstone
home and are now happily settled in and enjoying their new home
with their two cocker spaniels Cubby and Broccoli. The new house is
amazing, adds Liz. Theres so much space and were taking full
advantage of its fantastic location. Were surrounded by countryside
and having the village on the doorstep is particularly handy.
Shobdon Oaks offers an exclusive collection of just 35 luxury
three, four and five-bedroomed executive homes, which back on to
open fields, are up to 2,000 square feet in size and are priced
from just 174,995 for a three-bed and from 299,995 for a
four-bedroomed home. The development provides the best of both
worlds a stunning countryside setting within easy reach of Ludlow
(13 miles) and Hereford (19 miles). The development is close to a
number of schools including Shobdon Primary School, which has an
outstanding Ofsted score, Wigmore secondary school and a nursery in
Shobdon. For further information, contact the marketing suite, open
Thursday to Sunday between 10am to 5pm and Monday from 2.30pm to
5pm. Call 0845 6724035 or visit taylorwimpey.

Cancer fund adopted by company
Lettings team begins a year-long charity effortPROPERTY lettings
specialist Belvoir is throwing its weight behind a major
fund-raising push for cancer support charity Macmillan in 2011. The
Broad Street, Hereford, office headed by Terry Curthoys and Jeff
Crawley is among those in the national Belvoir network to pledge
its support as the charity celebrates its centenary year. Its the
first time that Belvoir has adopted a national charity and after
very careful consideration, we decided to help Macmillan because of
its fantastic work in supporting and improving the lives of people
affected by cancer, said Terry. Throughout the year we will be
staging a series of events, promotions and other fund-raising
activities, both as Belvoir Hereford and in conjunction with the
Macmillan fund-raising team which stages a wide range of organised
events throughout the country. We hope that our landlord and tenant
clients, suppliers and friends in our local community will join
with our staff in raising as much money as we possibly can in 2011,
added Jeff. Cancer affects so many people, one in three people in
the UK will be diagnosed at some point in their lives and there are
two million people currently living with cancer. Macmillan is
expert at providing practical, medical and financial support to
cancer sufferers and their families. The companys charity drive was
launched with a Go Green Day last week. Right: The Belvoir team
