HEMP SEED OIL PRAIRIE EMERALD OIL® BRAND

Hemp seed oil is a natural, whole food product extracted mechanically without use of chemicals, preservatives or additives. We use proprietary varieties of Canadian hemp seed specifically selected for their nutritional and fatty acid profile. Our hemp seed is grown by world class Prairie farm producers under contract on either a Certified Organic Regime or Conventional production free of in-crop pesticides and herbicides. Our hemp seeds are cold pressed at temperatures well below 50˚C. Freshly pressed hemp seed oil is then clarified via our cold filtering technology which removes any natural suspended solids. Our hemp seed oil is then packaged in an oxygen-free environment to protect this delicate oil and insure a fresh, quality product with increased shelf life.

Prairie Emerald Oil® hemp seed oil has a flavorful, light, nutty taste and can be used in a wide range of recipes such as sauces, dips, marinades and salad dressings or added to protein powder shakes or smoothies. Prairie Emerald Oil® hemp seed oil can also be consumed by the tablespoon or through our NEW Veggie Green Caps.

Hemp seed oil is low in saturated fats, a source of polyunsaturated fats, and is free from trans fat and cholesterol. One tablespoon (15 ml) of hemp seed oil provides 8g Omega-6, 2.5g Omega-3,

zero trans fat, zero cholesterol, and 10% of the recommended daily intake for vitamin E.

The dietary fat profile, ideal 3:1 balanced ratio of Omega-6 and Omega-3, GLA and SDA content, and not to mention its delicate nutty favor provides hemp seed oil an edge over other culinary oils available in the market.

VEGGIE GREEN CAPS™ Veggie Green Caps are a starch-based vegetable capsule containing cold-pressed, cold-filtered, Prairie Emerald Oil® hemp seed oil. These are produced in size number 20 oblong capsules and contains 1000 milligrams of oil in each capsule. This encapsulated form provides an alternate method of delivery to the commonly used animal fat based gelatin capsule. Veggie Green Caps are naturally gluten-free, lactose free and purely of vegetable origin. They do not contain any animal-derived ingredients. Veggie Green Caps™ are suitable for vegetarians, vegans, ethnic and religious groups.

REFINED HEMP SEED OILRefined hemp seed oil is produced under contract by Hemp Oil Canada. Refining involves the bleaching, deodorizing and degumming of our crude hemp seed oil to produce a clean, colorless and odorless oil.

Refined hemp seed oil is used primarily in the body care and cosmetic industry as a natural moisturizing oil. It can also be utilized for

topical delivery of skin medication. Refined hemp seed oil also has many other industrial

applications such as lubricants, varnishes, paints, wood preservatives, and oil.

It is a good source of the essential B Vitamins that comprise the Vitamin B complex. The Vitamin B Complex is essential for energy production, a healthy nervous system and good digestion. Hulled hemp seed contains niacin (vitamin B3), an excellent source of thiamine (vitamin B1), and is high in vitamin B6 and folate (vitamin B9). A serving size of 30 grams provides 10% niacin, 30% thiamine, 20% vitamin B6 , 15% folate of the Recommended Daily Intake.

Hulled hemp seed is free from gluten1 ,cholesterol, nuts, sodium and lactose, and being plant-based, it is a food product and ingredient that caters to persons with gluten-and-lactose intolerance, and various ethnic and religious dietary requirements. Being a source of essential B vitamins, especially vitamin B1 and folate makes it nutritious and wholesome for children and pregnant women.

HULLED HEMP SEEDHEMP NUGGETS® BRAND

Hulled hemp seed (aka “hemp seed hearts” or “hemp nuts”) is the white inner meat or nut of the hemp seed with the hull or shell removed. The “hulling” of hemp seed is achieved by a no-heat, mechanical process. Hulled hemp seed is a “super food” with a variety of uses including eating them straight as a snack; sprinkled on other foods, fruits or vegetables; used as a garnish on a wide array of prepared foods or salads; added and mixed into sauces, drips, marinades, yogurts, power drinks or smoothies; or used in baking as an ingredient in breads, muffins or cookies. Use them as you would any other seed or nut. Hulled hemp seeds are the main ingredient used in the production of non-dairy hemp beverage.

Three tablespoons of hulled hemp seed (30g) provides 770 kJ of energy, 180 calories and 10g of protein. As a source of polyunsaturated essential fatty acids, it provides 10g of Omega-6 and 3g of Omega-3 per 30 grams serving. Hulled hemp seed contains zero-trans fat.

Hulled hemp seed is very high in phosphorus. Three tablespoons contain 45% of the Recommended

Daily Value. Phosphorus together with calcium is an essential macro nutrient crucial for the development

of bones and teeth. It is also an important component of DNA and RNA and

in maintaining the pH level of body fluids.

It is a good source of essential B vitamins. Toasted hemp seed is high in vitamin B1, contains vitamin B2, high in vitamin B3, high in vitamin B6 and very high in vitamin B9. Vitamin B1 is important in energy production by converting carbohydrates to glucose. Vitamins B2 and B3 are essential for correct digestion through the production of acids necessary for the breakdown of nutrients. Vitamin B6 plays a role in the functioning of the nervous system. Vitamin B9 prevents neural tube effects in the fetus during pregnancy. Toasted hemp seed is an excellent source of copper, iron and zinc. Copper, iron and zinc are referred as the “essential trio”. These are essential trace nutrients that cannot be synthesized by the body, and are needed throughout one’s lifetime, but only in small and relatively equal quantities. Copper is necessary for blood vessel formation, a healthy heart, and for stabilizing the connective tissue in the body. Zinc plays a crucial role in more than 300 enzymes in the human body, including growth and fertility and a healthy immune system. Iron is an integral part of many proteins and enzymes that maintain oxygen transport and the regulation of cell growth. Hemp contains the correct proportions of these nutrients, providing the exact balance that the body needs to thrive.

Toasted hemp seed seasoned with kosher sea salt is low in sodium with only 140 mg of

sodium per 50 gram serving!

Rich in dietary fiber with 15 grams per serving size1, it makes an excellent food source to maintain a health digestive system. Fiber is a special type of carbohydrate that passes through the human digestive system virtually unchanged, which is very important for the body’s digestion of foods.


TOASTED HEMP SEED HEMP CRUNCH® BRANDToasted hemp seed are whole hemp seeds carefully roasted in our custom-built hemp seed roaster at various temperatures and for varied lengths of time to provide that extra flavor. Toasted hemp seed is a nutritious and crunchy snack, available with or without kosher sea salt seasoning. Toasted hemp seeds can also be used as a baking ingredient which will not only provide the nutritional benefits of hemp into your baked goodies but also the extra crunch and toasted nutty flavor of hemp.

Hemp Crunch® toasted hemp seed is a source of calcium and an excellent source of phosphorus. Each 50 gram serving size1 provides 6% of the calcium RDI and 45% of the phosphorus RDI. Both calcium and phosphorus are essential macro nutrients for bone formation and DNA and RNA production. These macro nutrients are also the most abundant nutrients found in the human body.

Rich in dietary fiber with 15 grams per serving size1, it makes an excellent food source to maintain a health digestive system. Fiber is a special type of carbohydrate that passes through the human digestive system virtually unchanged, which is very important for the body’s digestion of foods. Most of the dietary fiber found in hemp is composed of insoluble fiber that also cleanses and nourishes the colon, providing good laxative action and beneficial effects on body chemistry.

A 50 gram serving of toasted hemp seed is a source of Vitamin E, with 10% of the Recommended Daily Intake present in this serving size. Vitamin E, which is a fat-soluble vitamin, protects essential fatty acids

(EFAs) from oxidation in our bodies cells and prevents breakdown of body tissues. Toasted hemp seed is a source of Omega-6 and Omega-3 Essential Fatty Acids with 10 grams and 3 grams, respectively per

serving size.

Health Canada recommends that men over 19 years old should consume 1.6 g of omega 3 per day and women over 19 years old should consume 1.1 g of
