Meteora (UNESCO World Heritage Centre)

Ammouliani/Mt. Athos cruise

Ammouliani is a small island across from Ouranoupoli of the Chalkidiki peninsula. Take a bath in the wonderful sea, or have a cruise around Mt. Athos, an Orthodox spiritual site and also UNESCO’s world heritage site.CHOICE to be made: Ammouliani or Mt. Athos cruise?

Tuesday, August 12th

Edessa’s Falls and Vergina’s Royal Tombs

What’s better than an excursion that gives you the chance to learn a part of Thessaloniki’s history?

At first, you’ll have the chance to visit the royal tombs of Vergina, where Philip II, the father of Alexander the Great and king of Macedon (the northern part of Greece) was buried.

Then, you’ll visit Edessa, a beautiful town where a great waterfall is located!

Thursday, August 14th till Sunday the 17th

Athens and Santorini/Nafplion

On the 14th, you’ll have the chance to visit Athens, and there, you can visit the Acropolis and the New museum of the Acropolis, Monastiraki square, Plaka – Anafiotika and Suntagma square.

CHOICE to be made: Santorini island till the 17th of August, or Nafplion of Peloponnesus?

Friday, August 15th till Sunday the 17th

Aegean Sea: Santorini (1st choice)

If you’re the type that wants to enjoy a stunning view, and if you’re intrigued to visit an island with a huge (but “dead”) volcano, Santorini should be your choice!

Pros: great view, picturesque architecture, small and easy-to-get-through island. Biiiiig parties. Also famous for the best place to view the sunset.

Cons: too crowded, too expensive

Friday, August 15th till Sunday the 17th

Peloponnesus: Nafplion (2nd choice)

Nafplion is a very popular destination for tourists, due to its close proximity to Athens. The magical atmosphere and breathtaking scenery coupled with the historical importance of the town make it a great place to visit.

There, you’ll have a chance to see Epidaurus, the most famous ancient theater of Greece, or Olympia, the place where the Olympic Games were born.

Pros: cheaper than Santorini, chance to learn about history of Greece, near Athens

Cons: also crowded

Friday, August 22nd till Sunday the 24th

Skiathos island

The party island of the northern Greece! Get ready to visit the island that has it all; beautiful beaches, great parties, chances for cruises to the near islands such as Skopelos.

Know the movie Mamma Mia? Kalokairi, the island in which the story took place, actually is Skiathos and Skopelos! ;)

Tuesday, August 26th

Dion Archaelogical Site and Mt. Olympus: the mountain of the Gods

So… your last excursion is going to be legen…wait for it…dary. LEGENDARY!

Why? Because you’ll visit Dion, the watery wonderland of Mt. Olympus and also the sanctuary of Zeus. After that, you’ll go hiking at the canyon of Enipeas.

We totally recommend this day-trip as the best way to say goodbye to Greece! :D
