IS9, National College “B.P.Hasdeu” You were probably told that Romania doesn't

usually deserve to be visited, because of the rubbish and other things. But that's not true! We, actually do have very beautiful places, like The Sphinx from Mountain Bucegi, the Muddy Vulcanoes, the Rupestre Paintings (35,000 years old!) and many other things!

I'll let you decide if I'm telling you the truth, though.

Latvia IS6, Kraslava State Gymnasium, Latvia

In Latvia there are many landmarks, but we want to tell you about the most popular ones. They are the FreedomMonument, the Old Riga with its churches and spires and dunes at the Baltic Sea. The Monument of Freedom is located in the Latvian capital Riga on Freedom Boulevard near the OldCity.

The Old Riga is a historical centre of the capital with a lot of churches, such as St.Peter`s Chrurch, St.Jacob`s Church, the Dome Cathedral and others. Some of the buildings are built in the gothic style and have a figure of a cat or a cock on the top of the spire or the roof. The Baltic Sea is famous for its beaches and sand hills called dunes surrounded by pine-tree forests. It is one of few places of the world where amber can be found. Aglona Cathedral is the most famous landmark in out area. It is built in the Baroque style and is decorated with two about 60 m high towers. As to our town, the most popular landmarks are the catholic St.Ludwik`s Church and Plater Palace. Ineta, Renate, Viktors,

For that reason we think everything is so important and special. We love our amazing nature – wonderful mornings and peaceful evenings, our countryside and wildlife, seaside and amber... We love our old towns and cities that tell us about our history, people and architecture...We love our culture – folksongs, The Latvian Nationwide Song and Dance Celebration, music traditions, folk-dances, literature, cultural events...We love our people here – so kind, simply, sincere, beautiful, smart and unique...There are so many things we could mention..! We think – they are landmarks of Latvia.

Table Mountain is connected to our country because it has a natural structure that is always associated with Cape Town.In Winter if you look at Table Mountain, the fog looks like a table cloth on the mountain. Cape Town is a big tourist site in South Africa. The Cradle of Human Kind is where all of our origins are,and all of the famous archeology objects are situated. The Kruger National Park

Slovenia

• IS2, OŠ IVANA CANKARJA VRHNIKA, Slovenia

• Triglav is the highest mountain in Slovenia and the highest peak of the Julian Alps. While its name, meaning three-headed, can describe its shape as seen from the Bohinj area, the mountain was most probably named after the Slavic god Triglav. At the top of the mountain stands a small metal structure, the Aljaž Tower. The picture of Triglav is also on 50 cent coin.

• Postojnska cave is our greatest cave. The Postojna Cave is a 20km long karst cave system, a web of underground passages, galleries and chambers, which has in almost 200 years been visited by over 33 million people accompanied by experienced cave guides.

• PROTEUS Human fish is the fish who lives only in Slovenia. It is also called the OLM. It lives in the Postojnska Cave. This animal is most notable for its adaptations to a life of complete darkness in its underground habitat.
