Re: Naonally Consistent Collecon of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD) The Naonally Consistent Collecon of Data (the naonal data collecon) is a joint iniave of all Australian governments, and public and private educaon authories. Naonal data is collected annually to idenfy the number of school students receiving an adjustment to assist them with their learning, and the level of adjustment that they are receiving in order to access educaon on the same basis as other students. Parcipaon in the naonal data collecon process is mandatory for all schools and helps schools to idenfy and meet the varying needs of individual students. The NCCD provides state and federal governments with the informaon they need to plan more broadly for the support of students with disability. The school will update its NCCD data over the coming weeks. Student and family privacy is protected throughout the collecon of data. The school will provide data to the Australian Government in such a way that no individual student will be able to be idenfied – the privacy and confidenality of all students is ensured. All informaon is protected by privacy laws that regulate the collecon, storage and disclosure of personal informaon. To find out more about these maers, please refer to the Australian Government’s Privacy Policy (hps://www.educaon.gov.au/privacy-policy). Parents and carers can find further informaon about the naonal data collecon from the school office or at: hps://www.educaon.gov.au/what-naonally-consistent-collecon-data- school-students-disability. Further informaon about the NCCD can be found on the NCCD Portal (hps://www.nccd.edu.au). If you have any quesons about the NCCD, please contact the school. NAIDOC Celebraons Next Tuesday (2 July) we will be holding our NAIDOC celebraons at school commencing midday. Respected Elder, Uncle Gilbert Laurie, will be opening the event with a smoking ceremony (Gilbert is a former pupil of LHPS). This will be followed by Acknowledgement of Country and performances by our school's Deadly Dancers. A series of rotaonal acvies will follow, including The Rivers Campus High Schools Aboriginal dance workshops, damper sampling courtesy of Aunty Rose Walker, and an Aboriginal Art Exhibion. This is just a taster of what's on offer and we would like to invite all families to join us and share in our celebraons. Lantern Parade Thank you to all of the families who joined LHPS for this year’s Lantern Parade. Over the years our beauful school has developed a growing connecon with the parade and its organisers, and it was wonderful to see our school well represented once again. Student Reports This year we have adopted a new reporng format for Student Reports. Reports will be sent home with the students next week. The new format is designed to provide parents/carers with a clearer understanding of what their children have achieved and understood from their learning, based on Stage outcomes and indicators. The cover page includes ‘A guide to your child’s report’ which is intended to explain the various levels of aainment referred to in the report. Please keep a look out in your child ’s bag for the reports coming home next week. As always, your child’s class teacher will be more than happy to discuss your child’s report with you.
