WE BRING THE WORLD TOAND ST. LOUIS TO THE WORLD

t HEC-TV, we examine the problems and issues confronting our education, arts and cultural

communities, then we help the search for answers and show how those problems and issues are being overcome. Our live arts and education programming connects viewers with organizations and institutions in our community and all over the world, on a real time basis. Conversely, our massive number of productions expose our arts, educational and culturalorganizations to audiences they could not otherwise reach.

NOT ALL TELEVISION STATIONSare created equal 4

non-profit corporation, HEC-TV is the only station with the mission statement “to strengthen and promote the education, arts, and cultural communities in the St.

Louis Metropolitan area.”

In order to keep our mission statement alive, HEC-TV actively seeks grants, program under-writing and program sponsorships to help us expand our scope of programming and further serve the community.

Programming partnerships include several leading cultural institutions such as the Missouri Botanical Garden, the Missouri History Museum and the St. Louis Art Museum, as well as many school districts and higher education partners around the area.

Our goal is that every cultural institution, both major and minor, will form a program partnership and have their own show to directly cultivate and reach new and existing relationships.

A You can help bring the arts into every

classroom, promote lifelong learning, enrich

the lives of children and adults in our community

and make St. Louis a national showcase for

the arts. Consider becoming a funding or

programming partner of HEC-TV.

WE ARE MUCH MORE THAN

n addition to programming for several viewing audience, all HEC-TV productions are available

at all grade levels, with coordinating curriculum and classroom materials.

Foreign language broadcasts on HEC-TV allow students to enhance their studies simply by viewing our programs.

HEC-TV is also the only televi-sion station that incorporates a live videoconference into a program that gives students in the classroom a chance to connect with professionals and ex-perts from a variety of disciplines.

Students view shows on HEC-TV or our website, then engage in a live discus-

sion with people involved in the pro-gram through videoconference, email or phone.Curriculum materials are developed and available to teachers for each session. Families can also participate by viewing the program at home and by using family curriculum materials supplied by HEC-TV online.Needs for each student and class are different, so after the body of the lesson is accomplished, we offer teachers sev-eral different types of learning activities, all which reinforce and assess the lesson. Teachers may pick and chose the activi-ties that best support the many different learning styles of their pupils.
