New in – breadth – width – scope

Includes all men – good, bad, enemies, friends

Love as He loved us

Badge of Discipleship

John 13:35 NKJV “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Not trying to neglect plan of salvation / clean living

World will judge quality of our Christianity by our love for others!

Romans 12:10 NKJV “Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another;”

Debt We Owe One Another

Rom. 13:8 NKJV “Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.”

A man who loves will not: Rom. 13:9-10 murder, commit adultery, steal, hate, lie

“love does no wrong to a neighbor”

Fruit of the Spirit

Gal. 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23. Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”

Joy = love showing great happiness Peace = love at rest Longsuffering = love on trial Gentleness = love in society Goodness = love in action Faith = love on the battle-field Meekness = love at school Temperance = love in training

Fervent in Your Love

1 Pet. 4:8 “NKJV “And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.”

(RSV) “Above all hold unfailing your love for one another, since love covers a multitude of sins.”

(ESV) “Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.”

What Is Love ?

More than just an emotional attachment

“Love is a genuine concern for the good of another”

Love is more than just promises – it is action

We cannot go to heaven unless we love God’s Family !

1 Jn.3:11 “…that we should love one another.”
