Then, we need YOU on the team to select the fifth Mid-Missouri Heavy Medal Mock Newbery Award-winner. If you accept this challenge, you’ll be asked to read the six competing books listed below, or choose another from the “Newbery Possibilities” list. Then, you’ll defend the book you feel is the “Heavy Medalist” of the year. We’ll meet eight times this fall to give you a chance to haggle over your choices and defend your top pick. It will be your job to sway the other judges to vote your way. Sign up beginning Tuesday, August 23. Grades 4-8.
