Enrollment RequirementsStudents wishing to enroll in the Heavy Equipment Operator program at Mid-East CTC-Adult Education must complete the following enrollment procedures in order to be considered for acceptance into this class:

Application: Students must complete a written Application for Admissions and return it to the Adult Education Office during your interview with the Admissions Coordinator. You may set an appointment with the Admissions Coordinator by calling 740-455-3111 or 1-800-832-7545.

General Assessment: A basic assessment measuring academic areas must be completed. This will be scheduled through the Admissions Office.

Financial Aid: Arrangements to have the cost of tuition, books, and supplies paid in full, must be completed to the satisfaction of the Financial Aid Coordinator. Students may apply for Federal Financial Aid in the form of a Pell Grant by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov.

Proof of Graduation: A copy of the student’s high school transcript or high school equivalency (HSE) transcript must be submitted to the Admissions Office.

DOT Physical and Drug Screen: You will need to successfully complete a DOT (Department of Transportation) physical and drug screen. After the program start date, the Admissions Coordinator will schedule your appointment with Genesis Health Plex, located at 2800 Maple Avenue in Zanesville. You will be given a letter with your name and appointment time to present to Genesis as authorization to have your DOT physical and drug screen completed. Results will be sent to Mid-East Career & Technology Centers. Only students who test negative on the drug screen will be permitted to proceed with the class.

CDL: Applicants must hold a Driver’s License for one year to be eligible for a Commercial Driver’s License. Mid-East Adult Education will assist you in preparing for the written CDL Permit Exam during your class. You will be responsible for obtaining and paying for the a Driver Abstract ($8.50), CDL Permit ($27) and the CDL License fee ($42) at your local DMV.
