Venus on Fire, Mars on Ice (cont from pg 1) Once again Gray uses his signature insight into relationship dynamics to help Martians and Venusians not only understand and accept their differences, but grow in love and understanding while improving the quality of their lives. In his latest book, he explains how the choices you make everyday impact not only how you feel but also the health of our relationships. Recent and very exciting scientific discoveries have proven that the differences between the sexes and how they relate to one another are biochemically based, and can be explained by... our hormones! Dr. Gray will reveal the connection between stress, blood sugar, body fat and behavior to help you create lifelong passion and health. He provides simple tips and the practical knowledge we need to ensure a steady supply of feel-good hormones for you and your partner. Dr. Gray is engaging, entertaining, and funny – his lecture is on this subject is now the number one PBS special! It will air on WVIA TV Sept 15, 8:30 & Sat 18th, 2;30. Everything Natural has donated tickets to WVIA’s pledge drive during the show. Why should you care about GMOs?Why should you care about GMOs?Why should you care about GMOs?Why should you care about GMOs? GMOs, or genetically modified organisms are created in laboratories by combining genes of one organism with another. The result is a living thing that could not exist in nature otherwise.

Safety concerns: GMOs have not been tested for safety and we have no idea if there are any long term negative effects. Eating GMOs is experimenting with your body. There are so many safety concerns that they are banned in many countries! What’s even worse, foods containing GMOs are not labeled, making it impossible for consumers to make informed choices, even though 66% prefer non-GMO food. GMOs are not sustainable: Although they were supposed to reduce the use of pesticides, insects have adapted and crops are now needing more and additional pesticides instead. This creates an even higher carbon footprint, environmental pollution and higher costs. Doesn’t make economic sense: Because banned elsewhere, U.S. farmers have fewer places to sell their crops. Who benefits? Because GMO’s are patented, it forces farmers to buy seeds every year from companies that own the patents instead of harvesting them naturally. Instead of feeding the world by having crops more available and easier to grow, farmers around the world have to buy their more-expensive-than-ever seeds from a limited number (think Monsanto) of sources. GMO crop yields is also lower than expected. The genie is out of the bottle: GMOs are escaping. A recent study of wild canola plants in N. Dakota, discovered that 80% contained GMOs. Although we were assured that it couldn’t happen, GMO plants are cross pollinating with natural plants. The irony is that a farmer growing non-GMO plants that have been contaminated by cross pollination can be sued for patent infringement. Not to mention that it is another assault on food safety. Even cross-contaminated foods are banned from many countries. How to avoid GMOs: The only way is to buy foods that are ORGANIC or labeled as NON-GMO. By definition, organic foods cannot be genetically modified. 73% of corn which is ubiquitous in our diets and 91% of soy which is almost as pervasive, are GMO. Everything Natural features local organic produce and thousands of non-GMO foods. EAT ORGANIC!
