What is it?• Diagnosis made < 48 h after admission:1. Hospitalized > 48 h (within 90 days of the diagnosis)2. Reside in nursing home / long-term care facility3. Recent IV antibiotic therapy, chemo, wound care (30 days)
Common Cause• Methicillin-resistant S.aureus (MRSA) – 26.5%• Pseudomonas aeruginosa – 25.3%• 30 – 50% develop resistance, need Combination therapy
