Welcome to Christ Community Church April 12, 2020 CCC NEWS & NOTES Sunday Morning’s Worship Authorities have been consulted; there’s nothing remotely illegal, unhealthy, or unsafe about the drive-in option. Whether we meet in the parking lot or participate from home, the good news is Jesus is alive! Sacrificial Offering Our mission partners count on our support, so there is still time to send a sacrificial offering for world missions to the church. A letter was sent out with an envelope. You can mail your gift to the church marked “sacrificial offering.” Same is true for regular giving. A letter was sent out to let you know other ways to give even if no one is passing an offering plate. Shoppers Network We have a group of volunteers who would be willing to shop for you or run short errands. If you would appreciate this service, call the church office (847)746-1411 and one of our team will be in touch. Baptism At CCC If you trust Christ as Savior and Lord, have you confessed that faith publicly in baptism? Email one of our pastors for more information about being baptized. The baptism service will be scheduled when we’re done “social distancing.” Are You A Member? Are you sure? Sometimes young adults who grew up at CCC assume that they are members of the congregation. But to be a member – and to participate in elections and serve in some roles here – you decide to join. Talk to Pastor Drew Wicklund for more information about our InRoads process. Happy Easter He Is Risen! He Is Risen, Indeed! Easter Sunday – April 12, 2020 Weather-permitting, we’ll celebrate resurrection with a drive-in service at 10:30. We’ll give you an FM station to tune in. Our service will be also be broadcast on Facebook and our YouTube channel. Click here: https:// www.youtube.com/channel/ UChZncC7SmlcvoqHUtmgG-7g/ or search You Tube for CCCZion. Either way, words to the music will be provided so you can sing along. The sermon, “THE FEAST OF LIFE” is based on Isaiah 25: “The Lord Almighty will prepare a feast of rich food for all peoples; he will swallow up death forever.” Other Scripture referenced in the sermon: Psalm 23, Isaiah 55, Matthew 22, Revelation 19, John 6. Jesus Is Alive!

CCC NEWS & NOTES
Sunday Morning’s Worship Authorities have been consulted; there’s nothing remotely illegal, unhealthy, or unsafe about the drive-in option.

Dear Families, I miss you! I’m here for you – please call, email, send a Facebook message – let me know how you’re doing and how I can minister to your family
during this time. Ask to join the CCC Children’s Ministry Facebook page. It’s a private group for CCC families, SS Teachers, Pastors, AWANA leaders, and Mission Partners. It’s a great way for us to connect, pray for one another, get to know one another better, and encourage each other.
Youth Ministry Online The junior and senior high youth group are still meeting, but on Zoom for the time being. Join us online at our regular times for an hour of structured interaction and then an hour of hanging out together. Senior high small group Bible studies are still occurring. Check with your small group leader for more details. ALSO, KEEP AN EYE ON SOCIAL MEDIA for daily “One Minute of Your Time” devotionals from Pastor Leo as well as other updates.
Free Resource for Students & Families The youth ministry has 35 copies of Dr. Ed Welch’s book A Student’s Guide to Anxiety. This small, short book includes 10 chapters of about 6-8 pages each, including discussion questions at the end of each chapter. It is a great resource for teens, or even for families, to use in this time of uncertainty. Contact Pastor Leo to pick up a copy in the church lobby or to have one mailed to your home.
The Giving Point Food Pantry A few teens are needed to help keep the Food Pantry (900 Lewis Ave in Winthrop Harbor) up and running in this important time. Help is needed this Monday from 9am – 6pm. Clients picking up food will remain in their cars and appropriate precautions will be taken.
