Tourist Attractions

Machu Picchu is known as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Located in the Andean Mountain Range, it is considered to be one of the best representations of the Incan architecture and a cornerstone of Peru’s archeological importance.

Nazca Lines are a series of geoglyphs in the Nazca desert stretching more than 50 miles comprised of simple lines to more detailed designs such as lizards, birds, and monkeys. Due to the dry, windless, and stable climate of the plateau and its isolation, for the most part the lines have been preserved.

Peruvian History & Civilizations

Peru has a very long history of

The Chavin Indians established the first known civilizations in Peru, from 800 B.C. to 200 B.C. in the central Highlands. Their influence stretched from Mochica in the North coast, Nazca in the South coast, and Tiahuanaco round Lake Titicaca in the Andes.

Between 600 and 1000 A.D. Huari conquered a small empire, and the Chimu state rose on the northern coast.

During the 13th century, the Incas were another group that established power. They began in Cuzco and expanded to Chile and Ecuador during the 15th century, conquering a vast empire.

up into smaller, “easy to chew” chunks. These smaller chunks can be separated by a descriptive subheading, like the one that begins this paragraph. If this is the approach you prefer, you can make use of linked text boxes, which allow text to flow from one column to the next.

A text box offers a flexible way of displaying text and graphics; it’s basically a container that you can

resize and reposition. By linking a text box on one page with a text box on another, your article automatically
