ApplicationHammermillsofthetypeHUMandHNMareem-ployedforthefinecrushingand/ormilldryingofmedium-hardtosoftmaterials.Examples:Anhydrite,quicklime,lignite,dolomite,electronicscrap,gypsum,glass,potash,limestone,china-clay,diatomite,chalk,phosphates,salts,Frenchchalkandclay.
EquipmentDuetotheirhighlevelofflexibility,hammermillscanbeadaptedtodifferentoperatingconditions.Thehousingislinedwithreplaceableabrasionwearplates.Thehingedsectionsareopenedhydraulically.Themountedequipment,suchase.g.impactandspacerstrips(grindingpath)andvariousgratescanbere-placedsimplyandemployedflexibly,inordertoachievethetargetedgrainsize.Therotorswithshaftandbearingsformtheheartofahammermill.Asadiscrotor,itisequippedwithfreely-swinginghammers.
Mill dryingBymilldrying,thematerialisnotonlycrushed,butdriedsimultaneously.Processgasisroutedthroughthemillindirectflowwiththecrushingmaterial.Thedriedgoodsgenerallyleavethemillviagratesanda
downstreamdischargescrewconveyor,withattachedrotarygatevalve.TheHAZEMAGrotarygatevalvesservefortheexclusionoffalseair.
Process-technical features of the HNM hammer millThefinenessoftheproductisinfluencedbythecon-trolofthematerialflow.
1. Thedouble-rotormachineachievesitsgreatestthroughputcapacityincaseofcentralmaterialdischarge,sincethegrindinggrateorscreensurfacesthenhavethelargestarea.
2. Ifagrindingpathisinstalledbelowthefirstrotor,thematerialreachestheareaofthesecondrotor,andisthusgroundinatwo-stageprocesstoagreaterleveloffineness.
3. Optionallytheproductcanbedischargedpneumaticallytotopdirection.
4. TheHUMmillisequippedwithonerotor.Asaresultofthesymmetricalstructureofthemillhousing,therotorrotationdirectioncanbereversed.
