This symposium will consist of lectures about Hawking’s scientific achievements and his life struggle including a key note lecture. Keynote Lecture by Prof. John C. Mather (NASA) “The History of the Universe from the Beginning to the End: Where did we come from, where can we go?” Prof. John C. Mather is one of the pioneer of precision cosmology. His work on the COBE satellite project led to the confirmation of the Big Bang theory and he was subsequently awarded the 2006 Nobel Prize in Physics. He is currently working as a Senior Astrophysicist at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland.
